COMPANY OF CALIFORNIA for an } McArthur River Field
exception to Title ll, Alaska ) Middle Kenai Gas Pool
Administrative Code, Section } Trading Bay Unit No. K-20 Well
2061{c}. } August 20, 1969
IT APPEARING THAT:
1. The Union Oil Company of California, operator of the Trading Bay Unit
No. K-20 well in the Middle Kenai Gas Pool of the McArthur River Field,
submitted an application dated August l, 1969, for an exception to Title ll,
Alaska Administrative Code, Section 2061{c}.
2. There are no affected operators.
3. The referenced well is perforated between 8,065 feet and 8,215 feet
measured depth which is within 2,850 feet at the nearest point, from the
Union Oil Company of California Trading Bay Unit G-18 gas well in the
same pool.
4. An emergency order permitting the referenced well to produce was
granted on August 5, 1969.
5. Notice of the hearing on the request was published in the Anchorage
Daily News on August 7, 1969, pursuant to Title ll, Alaska Administrative
Code, Section 2009, but no protest was received.
AND IT FURTHER APPEARING THAT an exception to Title ll, Alaska Administrative
Code, Section 2061(c) permitting Union Oil Company of California to produce
the Trading Bay Unit No. K-20 well should be granted because the mechanical
limitations of drilling the high angle directional well prevented the operator
from drilling to the programmed bottom hole location.
AND IT FURTHER APPEARING THAT correlative rights will not be adversely
affected and there will be no waste.
