The subject well is to be drilled to a fotal depth of l3,000'~ Mobil Oil Corporation also requests an order of exception to the well spacing restrictions for drilling Gwydyr BaYft~l, in that the well's location deviates from required minimum stand-back at the lease line between state leases Nos. ADL 47468 and ADL 49469. Exceptions are requested for the following well spacing rules: 1. Conservation Order No. 98-A, Rule 2, Prudhoe Bay Kuparuk River. Oil Pool which specifies a 500' minimum stand-back. 2. Conservation Order No. 98-B, Rule 2, Prudhoe Oil Pool which specifies a 1500' minimum stand-back. / ) /1 i', C ·L ¿ , .") 3. State Conservation Regulation, Section 2061 (a) which specifies a 500' minimum stand-back. Since the well will be located on an island in the Kuparuk River Delta, choices of a suitable surface location are limited. The locations of lakes and areas of low elevation susceptible to flooding were considered in the selection of a site suitable for construction. There is evidence that there has been flooding on the north end of 'the island, probably due to ice blockage of the river channels during breakup.
