Union Oil Company of California submitted the referenced appli- cation dated June 10, 1975. 2. The referenced completion lies approximately 1920 feet from the same pool completion in the KU 44-30 well. Pool rules for this field require a minimum of 3000 feet between completion in the same pool. 3. The well is proposed for dual completion in the Sterling Pool 3 and Pool 4. 4. Notice of hearing on this request was published in the Anchorage Daily News on June 12, 1975 pursuant to Title 11, Alaska Adminis- trative Code, Section 22.540, and no protest was received. FINDINGS: 1. It is necessary to complete this well less than 3000 feet from another completion in the same pool in order to utilize an èxist- ing well bore, conserve use of surface area and increase deliver- ability. CONCLUSION: 1. Granting the applicant's request will not result in waste or im- pair correlative right of affected parties. NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS ORDERED THAT: Union Oil Company of California may complete the KU 33-30 well less than 3000 feet from the completion interval in the KU 44-30 well. Notice is hereby given that Union Oil Company of California, has requested the Oil and Gas Conservation- Committee to issue an order exempting the referenced well from the 3000 foot minimum distance between wells requirement of the referenced order. The operator states that the proposed action will conserve use of surface area and increase deliverability. Parties who m~y be aggrieved if the requested order is issued are allo~ed 10 days from the date of this publication in which to file a protest and request for hearing. Place of filing is 3001 Porcupine Drive, Anchorage, Alaska. If such a protest is timely filed, a hearing on the matter will be held at the above address at 9:00 AM, June 23, 1975, at which time protestants and others may be heard.. If no such protest is timely f'iled, the Committee will consider the issuance of the order with- out a hearing. {k. f?1/(¡~L. Thomas R. Gilbreth, Chairman KENAI UNIT KENAI GAS FIELD State of Alaska Application for Spacing Exception for KU 33-30 Gentlemen: Union Oil Company of California, for itself and as operator of the Kenai Unit, hereby applies for exception to Kenai Gas Field Rule No. 2 of Conservation Order No. 82 for the KU 33-30 well. The current spacing regulations in the Kenai Unit allow one completion per Pool in each 320 acre tract, but requires a minimum of 3,000' between Pool completions. KU 33-30 is presently a dual Sterling Pool 3 - Pool 5.1 gas well with two tubing strings for segregàted Pool production. The increased water production through the Pool 5.1 tubing string is believed to be from the underlying water sands. An attempt to isolate this water sand during the 1974 workover of KU 33-30 was not successful. To fully utilize the KU 33-30 well bore and provide additional deliver- ability to meet the 1975-76 winter gas requirements, Union proposes to recomplete this well in Pool 4. KU 33-30 would then be a dual Pool 3 - Pool 4 gas well with two tubing strings. The Pool 4 completion will be approximately 1,920' from KU 44-30, also completed in the same pool and within the same 320 acre tract as indicated on the attached plat. Reservoir surveys have demonstrated the static pressure in the Pool 4 reservoirs have depleted uniformly throughout the field despite unequal withdrawals from the seven wells presently completed in this Pool. The granting of this exception will conserve cost and use of surface area and will assist in meeting deliverability needs. The affected parties in this proposed operation are the co-lease owners in this unitized gas field whom have received a copy of this application by certified mail. ) ) Oil and Gas Conservation Committee Application for Spacing Exception for KU 33-30 - 2 - June 10, 1975 It is our understanding in interpreting 11 AAC 22.540 that if the Committee does not receive timely protest from any party aggrieved by the proposed action, the Committee may consider this application without hearing. If anything else is needed in order for the Committee to consider favorable action in this application at the earliest time, please advise us. Very truly yours, ~~1/ RObert~.
