The Atlantic Richfield Company submitted the referenced application dated December 5, 1975. 2. The pay in the referenced deviated well is approximately 1800 feet from the closest point of the pay in the Drill site No. 2-4 well. The referenced order requires a minimum of 2000 feet between wells to any pay in the same pool opened to the well bore of another well. 3. Directional control problems were encountered which resulted in the hole not reaching the planned objective. 4. Both wells are owned by the same operator. 5. The bottomhole location of the Drill Site No. 2-7 well is 1232 feet from the south line and 792 feet from the east line of Section 35, Township llN, Range 14E, UM. 6. Notice of hearing on this request was published in the Anchorage Daily News on December 9, 1975 pursuant to Title 11, Alaska Administrative Code, Section 22.540, and no protest was received. FINDINGS: 1. It is necessary to complete the referenced well less than 2000 feet from another completion in the same pool in order to utilize an existing well bore. CONCLUSION: 1. Granting the applicant's request will not result in waste or impair correlative rights of affected parties. NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS ORDERED THAT: The Atlantic Richfield Company may complete the Drill site No. 2-7 well less than 2000 feet from the Drill site No. 2-4 well. The operator states that while drilling the subject well, directional control problems were encountered and, as a result, the subject well bottomed approximately 1800 feet from the bottom of the operators Prudhoe Bay Drill Site No. 2-4 well. The exception is requested so that the subject well can be completed as an oil well. Parties who may be aggrieved if the requested order is issued are allowed 10 days from the date of this publication in which to file a protest and request for hearing. Place of filing is 3001 Porcupine Drive, Anchorage, Alaska 99501. If such a protest is timely filed, a hearing on the matter will be held at the above address at 11:00 AM, December 23,1975 at which time protestants and others may be heard. As a result, the well bottomed approximately 1800 feet from the bottom of our nearby Drill Site No. 2-4 well (23-36-11-14). Since the situation violates Conservation Order No. 130, Rule 2 which states ".... . nor shall any pay opened to the well bore..... be closer than 2000 feet to any pay in the same pool opened to the well bore of another well", we are requesting exception to the order so that we may complete the above well without having to red rill. As this situation involves only A.R.Co.-Exxon acreage, the problem of property lines with ownership changes is nonexistent.
