IT APPEARING THAT:
·
BP Exploration (Alaska) Inc (BPX) submitted an application
on December 7, 1989 requesting an exception to 20 AAC
25.055(a)(1) to permit the drilling of Fawn Lake #1
exploratory well closer than 500' from a drilling unit
boundary.
·
Notice of hearing on this request was published in the
Anchorage Daily News on December 9, 1989 pursuant to 20 AAC
25.540.
3. No protests to the application were received.
FINDINGS:
I ·
BPX proposes to drill Fawn Lake #1 from a surface location
2100' from the west line and 2250' from the north line of
Section 25, T12N, R13E, Umiat Meridian, to the same bottom-
hole location.
·
Offset operator/owners Exxon Corporation and ARCO Alaska,
Inc have been duly notified.
·
An exception is necessary to achieve compliance with 20 AAC
25.055(a) (1).
·
20 AAC 25.517 provides for integrating the interests of all
persons owning an interest in a pool or portion of a pool
before commencing regular production of oil or gas.

CONCLUSION:
Granting a spacing exception to allow drilling of the BPX Fawn
Lake #1 well as proposed will not result in waste nor jeopardize
correlative rights.
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS ORDERED:
BP Exploration (Alaska) Inc's application for an exception to
20 AAC 25.055 for the purpose of drilling the Fawn Lake #1 well
is approved as proposed.

Re: The application of BP Exploration (Alaska) Inc. for excep-
tion to 20 AAC 25.055 for the Fawn Lake #1 well.
BP Exploration (Alaska) Inc. by letter dated December 7,
1989, has requested an exception to the provisions of 20 AAC
25.055(a)(1). The exception would allow drilling the Fawn Lake #1
exploratory well to a location closer than 500 feet from the
boundary of the drilling unit.
Fawn Lake #1 will be drilled as a straight hole from a
surface location 2250' from the north line (FNL) and 2100' from
the west line (FWL) of Section 25, Township 12N, Range 13E, UM.
A person who may be harmed if the requested order is issued
may file a written protest prior to 4:30 pm December 26, 1989
with the Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Commission, 3001
Porcupine Drive, Anchorage, Alaska 99501, and request a hearing
on the matter. If the protest is timely filed, and raises a
substantial and material issue crucial to the Commission's
determination, a hearing on the matter will be held at the above
address at 9:00 am on January 12, 1990 in conformance with 20 AAC
25.540. If a hearing is to be held, interested parties may
confirm this by calling the Commission's office, (907) 279-1433,
after December 26, 1989. If no proper protest is filed, the
Commission will consider the issuance of the order without a
hearing.

2. I am a Landman for the well operator, BP Exploration (Alaska) Inc.
3. Pursuant to 20 AAC 25.055 (b), BP Exploration (Alaska) Inc. ("BP"),
the well operator, prepared a Notice of Request for an Exception to the Provision
of 20 AAC 25.055. A copy of this notice is attached hereto as Exhibit A.
4. On December 7, 1989, pursuant to 20 AAC 25.055 (b) BP sent a
copy of said notice by registered mail to the last known address of each owner
and operator of governmental quarter sections directly and diagonally offsetting
the quarter section of the proposed location of the oil well. Attached hereto as

Pursuant to the requirements of 20 AAC 25.055 (b) BP Exploration (Alaska) Inc.
hereby gives notice of a request to the Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation
.Commission for an exception to the spacing requirements of 20 AAC 25.055 (a)
(1).
BP's request, if approved will permit the welibore of the captioned well to be
located within 390 feet of the south line and 540 feet of the east line of the
governmental quarter section in which the well will be bottomed.
Specifically, the excePtion location applied for will be as follows'
2250' feet from the north line and
2100' feet from the west line of
Section 25, Township 12 North, Range 13 East, Umiat Meridian.
