Attention: Mr. Robert P. Crandall, Senior Petroleum Geologist
Reference:
Application for exemption to provisions of 20 ACC 25.055 (Drilling Units and Well
Spacing), Stewart Petroleum Company, West McArthur River No. 1
Dear Mr. Crandall:
Stewart Petroleum Company hereby makes application to the Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation
Commission for an exemption to the provisions of the drilling unit and well spacing requirements
of 20 ACC 25.055 as they pertain to the proposed bottomhole location of the above referenced
well.
The proposed bottomhole location is as follows:
300 ft. FNL, 700 ft. FEL, SE-1/4, Sec 10, T8N, R14W. SM
This location is less than 500 feet from the nearest drilling unit boundary as defined in 20 ACC
25.055. The closest adjacent governmental quarter section, and the only one effected by the
requested exemption, is the NE-l/4, Sec 10, T8N, R14W. SM. This quarter section is also
under lease to Stewart Petroleum and is part of the same lease (ADL 359111) that covers the
proposed bottomhole location.
The exemption is requested to optimize the structural position of the BHL. All of the acreage
affected by the requested exemption is covered by the West McArthur River Exploratory Unit
which was approved by the Department of Natural Resources effective August 1, 1990.
The undersigned hereby verifies that he is acquainted with the facts surrounding this application
for exemption; that the facts presented herein, and on the attached plat and table, are true and
correctly portray all pertinent and required data as defined in 20 ACC 25.055(a)(1) and 20 ACC
25.055(b).
