No protests to the application were received· FINDINGS: · The Walakpa No. 4 as proposed will be drilled from a surface location 290 feet from the south line (FSL) 1454 feet from the east line (FEL) of section 18, T20N, R19W, Umiat Meridian to the same bottomhole location. e There are no offset operator/owners besides the North Slope Borough. · An exception is necessary to achieve compliance with 20 AAC 25.055(a) (4). CONCLUSIONS: Granting a spacing exception to allow drilling of the Walakpa No. 4 well as proposed will not result in waste nor jeopardize correlative rights. NOW, THEREFORE IT IS ORDERED: The North Slope Borough's application for an exception to 20 AAC 25.055 for the purpose of drilling the Walakpa No. 4 well is approved as proposed. The North Slope Borough by letter dated December 19, 1990 has requested an exception to the provisions of 20 AAC 25.055. The exception would allow drilling the Walakpa #4 well from a surface location closer than 1500 feet from the boundary of a drilling unit. The proposed location is 290' from the south line, 1454' from the east line, Section 18, T20N, R19W, Umiat Meridian. A person who may be harmed if the requested order is issued may file a written protest prior to 4:00 pm January 11, 1991 with the Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Commission, 3001 Porcupine Drive, Anchorage, Alaska 99501, and request a hearing on the matter. If the protest is timely filed, and raises a substantial and material issue crucial to the Commission's determination, a hearing on the matter will be held at the above address at 1:00 pm January 28, 1991 in conformance with 20 AAC 25.540. If a hearing is to be held, interested parties may confirm this by calling the Commission's office, (907) 279-1433 after January 11, 1991. Oil and Gas Conservation Commission 3001 Porcupine Drive Anchorage, .AK 99501 Re' Walakpa Well Spacing Gent lemen: The North Slope Borough is applying for exception to the spacing provisions as outlined under 20AAC25.055 for 'the Walakpa $4 well. The proposed well location for 'the su'bject well is 290' FSL, 1454' FEL, SW/4-SE/4 Sec. 18, T20N,R19W in order to accomodate correlation with seizmic lines. Currently there is one plugged and abandoned well and one temporarily abandoned well in the Walakpa Field. The North Slope Borough owns the minerals within a minimum of a two mile radius of the proposed wells, thus correlative rights are not an issue.
