IT APPEARING THAT:

ARCO Alaska, Inc. submitted an application dated February 25,
1991 requesting an exception to 20 AAC 25.055 (a) (1) to allow
drilling the Galena No. I well closer than 500 feet to a section
line.

Notice of hearing was published in the Anchorage Daily News and
the Anchorage Times on March 5, 1991 pursuant to 20 AAC
25.540.
3. No protests to the application were received·
FINDINGS:
I ·
The Galena No. 1 well is proposed to be directionally drilled from
a surface location 2115 feet from the north line (FNL), 2120 feet
from the west line (FWL) of Section 32, T7N, R9W, Seward
Meridian to a bottomhole location 655 feet FSL, 454 feet FWL,
Section 32, T7N, R9W, Seward Meridian.

Arco and its partner, CIRI Production Company, are owners of all
governmental quarter sections directly and diagonally offsetting
the proposed location.
·
An exception to 20 AAC 25.055 (a) (1) is necessary to allow
drilling of the well.

CONCLUSIONS:
Granting a spacing exception to allow drilling of the Galena No. 1 well
as proposed will not result in waste nor jeopardize correlative rights.
NOW, THEREFORE IT IS ORDERED:
ARCO Alaska, Inc.'s application for an exception to 20 AAC 25.055 for
the purpose of drilling the Galena No. I well is approved as proposed.
DONE at Anchorage, Alaska and dated March 29, 1991.

Re: The application of ARCO Alaska, Inc. for exception to 20 AAC
25.055 for the Galena No. 1 exploratory well in Sec. 32, T7N,
R9W, Seward Meridian.
ARCO Alaska, Inc. by letter dated February 25, 1991 has
requested an exception to the provisions of 20 AAC 25.055. The
exception would allow ARCO to directionally drill the Galena No. 1
exploratory well from a surface location 2115 feet from the north line
(FNL), 2120 feet from the west line (FWL), section 32, T7N, R9W,
Seward Meridian to a bottomhole location 655 feet FSL, 454 feet FWL,
section 32, T7N, R9W, Seward Meridian.
A person who may be harmed if the requested Order is issued
may file a written protest prior to 4:00 pm March 21, 1991 with the
Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Commission, 3001 Porcupine Drive,
Anchorage, Alaska 99501, and request a hearing on the matter. If the
protest is timely filed and raises a substantial and material issue crucial
to the Commission's determination, a hearing on the matter will be held
at the above address at 9:00 am on April 9, 1991 in conformance with
20 AAC 25.540. If a hearing is to be held, interested parties may
confirm this by calling the Commission's office, (907) 279-1433 after
March 21, 1991. If no protest is filed, the Commission will consider the
issuance of the order without a hearing.
