IT APPEARING THAT:

Chevron U.S.A. Inc. submitted an application dated November 5,
1991, requesting an exception to 20 AAC 25.055 to allow drilling
the Chevron Kustatan No. I exploratory oil well closer than 500
feet to a drilling unit boundary.

Notice of hearing was published in the Anchorage Daily News and
the Anchorage Times on November 14, 1991 and the Alaska
Administrative Journal Issue 48 on November 25, 1991 pursuant to
20 AAC 25.540.
3. No protests to the application were received.
FINDINGS:
I ·
The Chevron Kustatan No. I well as proposed will be directionally
drilled from a surface location 1530 feet from the north line
(FNL), 3891 feet from the west line (FWL) of Section 3, TSN,
R15W, Seward Meridian to a bottomhole location 541 feet FNL, 2662
feet FWL, Section 3, T8N, R15W, Seward Meridian.

All offset operators/owners have been identified and duly notified
of Chevron's application.

An exception to 20 AAC 25.055(a)(1) is necessary to allow drilling
of the well.

CONCLUSIONS:
Granting a spacing exception to allow drilling of the Chevron Kustatan
No. 1 well as proposed will not result in waste nor jeopardize
correlative rights.
NOW, THEREFORE IT IS ORDERED:
Chevron U.S.A. Inc.'s application for an exception to 20 AAC 25.055
for the purpose of drilling the Kustatan No. 1 well is approved as
proposed.
DONE at Anchorage, Alaska and dated December 2, 1991.

Re: The application of Chevron U.S.A. Inc. for exception to
20 AAC 25.055 for the Kustatan No. I well
Chevron U.S.A. Inc. by letter dated November 5, 1991, has
requested an exception to the provisions of 20 AAC 25. 055. The
exception would allow drilling the Kustatan No. 1 well to a bottom hole
location closer than 500 feet from the boundary of a drilling unit. The
surface location is 1530' from the north line (FNL), 3891' from the west
line (FWL), Section 3, TSN, R15W, Seward Meridian and the bottom hole
location will be 541' FNL, 2662' FWL, Section 3, TSN, R15W, Seward
Meridian.
A person who may be harmed if the requested order is issued, may
file a written protest prior to 4:00 pm November 29, 1991, with the
Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Commission, 3001 Porcupine Drive,
Anchorage, Alaska 99501, and request a hearing on the matter. If the
protest is timely filed, and raises a substantial and material issue
crucial to the Commission's determination, a hearing on the matter will
be held at the above address at 9:00 am December 16, 1991 in
conformance with 20 AAC 25.540. If a hearing is to be held, interested
parties may confirm this by calling the Commission's office, (907)
279-1433, after November 29, 1991. If no proper protest is filed, the
Commission will consider the issuance of the order without a hearing.

PERSONNEL BOARD
Notice is given that the Personnel Board under authority vested in it
under Alaska Statute 39.25.070(9) and 39.52.350(d) will hold a meet-
ing to: ~
1. Review the findings of a hearing officer appointed to investigate a
formal accusatfon filed against a former State employee under the
executive branch ethics act and to determine whether a penalty should
be imposed under Alaska Statute 39.52.350(d) and .440.
The meeting will be held in the Commissioner's Conference Room,
Department of Administration, tenth floor of the State Office Build-
ing, Juneau, Alaska at 10:00 a.m., December 3, 1991.
The meeting is open to the public. The Board may adjourn from time
to time to executive session to review issues or conduct deliberations
that are not subject to the open meeting requirements of Alaska
Statute 44.62.310.
