IT APPEARING THAT:

Conoco Inc. submitted an application dated December 11, 1991
requesting an exception to 20 AAC 25.055(a)(1) to allow drilling
the Badami No. 2 exploratory well closer than 500 feet to a
drilling unit boundary.
Notice of hearing was published in the Anchorage Daily News and
the Anchorage Times on December 17, 1991 pursuant to
20 ACC 25.540 and in the Alaska Administrative Journal
December 23, 1991.
3. No protests to the application were received.
FINDINGS:
I ·
The Conoco Badami No. 2 well as proposed will be a straight hole
drilled from a surface location 2390 feet from the north line
(FNL), 2500 feet from the west line (FWL) of Section 30, T10N,
R20E, Umiat Meridian.

Offset operator/owner Petrofina Delaware, Incorporated has been
duly notified.

An exception to 20 AAC 25.055(a)(1) is necessary to allow drilling
of the well.

CONCLUSION:
Granting a spacing exception to allow drilling of the Conoco Badami No.
2 well as proposed will not result in waste nor jeopardize correlative
rights.
NOW, THEREFORE IT IS ORDERED:
Conoco Inc.'s application for an exception to 20 AAC 25.055 for the
purpose of drilling the Badami No. 2 well is approved as proposed.
DONE at Anchorage, Alaska and dated January 3, 1992.

Re: The application of Conoco Inc. for exception to 20 AAC 25.055 to
allow drilling the Badami No. 2 exploratory oil well.
Conoco Inc. by letter dated December 11, 1991 has requested an
exception to the provisions of 20 AAC 25.055. The exception would
allow drilling the Badami No. 2 exploratory well from a surface location
closer than 500 feet from the boundary of a drilling unit. The
proposed location is 2390' from the north line (FNL) and 2500' from the
west line (FWL) of section 30, T10N, R20E, Umiat Meridian.
A person who may be harmed if the requested order is issued,
may file a written protest prior to 4:00 pm January 2, 1992 with the
Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Commission, 3001 Porcupine Drive,
Anchorage, Alaska 99501, and request a hearing on the matter. If the
protest is timely filed, and raises a substantial and material issue
crucial to the Commission's determination, a hearing on the matter will
be held at the above address at 9:00 am January 20, 1992 in
conformance with 20 AAC 25.540. If a hearing is to be held, interested
parties may confirm this by calling the Commission's office, (907) 279-
1433, after January 2, 1992. If no proper protest is filed, the
Commission will consider the issuance of the order without a hearing.

A second set of hearings on January 17 will begin at 5:15 p.m. in
Whittier, Valdez, Cordova and Tatitlek, with the communities con-
nected by teleconference. Barring weather or other difficulties, at
least one Commission or staff member will be in Valdez, Cordova and
Whittier. The hearings will be at the following locations, with testi-
mony at the times shown: Whittier, Kittiwake Room, 5:15 p.m.;
Valdez Civic Center Conference Room, 6:15 p.m.; Cordova Library
Meeting Room, 7:15 p.m.; Tatitlek Council Office, 8:15 p.m. The
Commission will take additional testimony from each community at
the end of the evening, if there are witnesses who could not be heard
during the originally scheduled hour.
Other Communities are also invited to attend by teleconference. The
Final hearing will be heard on Saturday January 18, -1992 at 3:00 p.m.
in Yakutat at the A.N.B. Hail.
