Kalubik No. 1 Exploratory Well February 4, 1992 IT APPEARING THAT: · ARCO Alaska, Inc. submitted an application dated January 9, 1992 requesting an exception to 20 AAC 25.055 (a)(1) to allow drilling the ARCO Kalubik No. 1 exploratory well closer than 500 feet to a drilling unit boundary. · Notice of hearing was published in the Anchorage Daily News and the Anchorage Times on January 16, 1992 pursuant to 20 ACC 25.540 and in the Alaska Administrative Journal on January 27, 1992. 3. No protests to the application were received. FINDINGS: · The ARCO Kalubik No. 1 well as proposed will be a straight hole drilled from a surface location 2227 feet from the south line (FSL), 646 feet from the west line (FWL) of Section 11, T13N, R7E, Umiat Meridian. · Offset operators/owners Hunt Petroleum Corp., Placid Oil Co., Rosewood Resources Inc., Amerada Hess Corp., and Union Texas Petroleum Corp. have been duly notified. CONCLUSION: Granting a spacing exception to allow drilling of the ARCO Kalubik No. 1 well as proposed will not result in waste nor jeopardize correlative rights. NOW, THEREFORE IT IS ORDERED: ARCO Alaska, Inc.'s application for an exception to 20 AAC 25.055 for the purpose of drilling the Kalubik No. 1 well is approved as proposed. The exception would allow drilling the ARCO Kalubik No. 1 exploratory well from a surface location closer than 500 feet from the boundary of a drilling unit. The proposed surface and bottom hole location is 2227' from the south line (FSL) and 646' from the west line (FWL) of Section 11, T13N, R7E, Umiat Meridian.
