IT APPEARING THAT:

ARCO Alaska, Inc. submitted an application dated December 15,
1992 requesting an exception to 20 AAC 25.055 (a)(1) to allow
drilling the ARCO Till No. 1 exploratory oil well closer than 500
feet to a drilling unit boundary.

Notice of hearing was published in the Anchorage Daily News on
December 25, 1992 pursuant to 20 ACC 25.540.
3. No protests to the application were received·
FINDINGS:
I ·
The ARCO Till No. 1 well as proposed will be a straight hole
drilled from a surface location 2375 feet from the west line (FWL),
200 feet from the south line (FSL) of Section 10, T12N, R6E,
Umiat Meridian.

An exception to 20 AAC 25·055 (a)(1) is necessary to allow
drilling of the well.

CONCLUSION:
Granting a spacing exception to allow drilling of the ARCO Till No. 1
well as proposed will not result in waste nor jeopardize correlative
rights.
NOW, THEREFORE, IT IS ORDERED:
ARCO Alaska, Inc.'s application for an exception to 20 AAC 25.055 for
the purpose of drilling the Till No. 1 well is approved as proposed.
DONE at Anchorage, Alaska and dated January 19, 1993.

The application of AR CO Alaska, Inc. for exception to
20 AAC 25.055 to allow drilling the ARCO Till No. I exploratory
oil well.
ARCO Alaska, Inc. by letter dated December 15, 1992 has requested
an exception to the provisions of 20 AAC 25.055 (a)(1). The exception
would allow drilling the ARCO Till No. 1 exploratory well to a location
closer than 500 feet from the boundary of a drilling unit. The
proposed location is 2375 feet from the west line (FWL) and 200 feet
from the south line (FSL) of Section 10, T12N, R6E, Umiat Meridian.
A person who may be harmed if the requested order is issued, may
file a written protest prior to 4:00 pm January 11, 1993 with the Alaska
Oil and Gas Conservation Commission, 3001 Porcupine Drive, Anchorage,
Alaska 99501, and request a hearing on the matter. If the protest is
timely filed, and raises a substantial and material issue crucial to the
Commission's determination, a hearing on the matter will be held at the
above address at 9:00 am January 25, 1993 in conformance with
20 AAC 25.540. If a hearing is to be held, interested parties may
confirm this by calling the Commission's office, (907) 279-1433, after
January 11, 1993. If no proper protest is filed, the Commission will
consider the issuance of the order without a hearing.

Dear Chairman Johnston:
ARCO Alaska, Inc. ("ARCO") hereby applies for an exception to the
provisions of 20 AAC 25.055 for the drilling of the Till No. 1 Well. The well
will be drilled as a undirected straight hole from a surface location of 2375'
FWL and 200' FSL of Section 10, T12N-R6E, UM. The surface and
bottomhole of the well is on ADL-25536 which is owned by ARCO, BP
Exploration (Alaska) Inc. and Union Texas Petroleum Alaska Corporation.
The attached Exhibit 1 shows the location of the Till No. 1 Well and all
other adjoining properties and wells. There are no other completed or
drilling wells on the property. The names and addresses of all owners and
operators of the governmental quarter sections directly and diagonally
offsetting Sections 10 are set forth in the attached Exhibit 2. All owners in
the well are also owners in the governmental quarter sections directly and
diagonally offsetting Section 10. Included in the attached Exhibit 3 is the
verification required by the referenced provisions, a copy of the notice sent
to the other owners listed in Exhibit 2, and the date such notice was mailed.

1. My name is Brad L. Dowdell. I am over 19 years old and have personal
knowledge of the matters set forth herein.
2. I am a Senior Landman for the well operator, ARCO Alaska, Inc.
I am acquainted with the facts associated with the drilling of Till

I have reviewed the application submitted for the exception to 20
AAC 25.055. To the best of my knowledge and belief all facts therein are true
and accurate.
5. I have reviewed the plat attached as Exhibit I and it correctly
portrays pertinent and required data.
6. Pursuant to 20 AAC 25.055 (b), ARCO Alaska, Inc. ("ARCO"), the well
operator, prepared a Notice of Request for Exception to the Provision of 20 AAC
25.055. A copy of this notice is attached hereto.
7. On December 18, 1992, pursuant to 20 AAC 25.055 (b), ARCO sent a
copy of said notice by certified mail to the last known address of all owners
and operators of governmental quarter sections directly and diagonally
offsetting the governmental quarter section of the proposed locations of ARCO's
