Notice of opportunity for public hearing was published in the Anchorage Daily News on September 28, 1994 pursuant to 20 AAC 25.540. 3. No protests to the application were received. FINDINGS: o The Granite Point Field Platform Anna 3RD well as proposed, will be a deviated hole drilled from a surface location 729' from the north line (FNL) and 636' from the east line (FEL) of Section 12, T10N, R12W, Seward Meridian (SM) to a proposed bottom-hole location of 2221' FNL and 2242' FEL of Section 12, T10N, R12W, SM. 2 UNOCAL is the sole owner of all offsetting spacing units. 3. An exception to 20 AAC 25.055(a)(3) is necessary to allow drilling of this well. CONCLUSION: Granting a spacing exception to allow drilling of the Unocal Granite Point Field, Platform Anna 3RD well as proposed will not result in waste nor jeopardize correlative rights. A request for rehearing must be received by 4:30 PM on the 23rd day following the date of the order, or next working day ifa holiday or weekend, to be timely filed. The Conmfission shall grant or refuse the application in whole or in part within 10 days. The Commission can refuse an application by not acting on it within the 10-day period. Surface location: Leg 1, Slot 6, GP Platform Anna, 729' FNL,636' FEL, Sec. 12,T10N,R12W, SM 2. Top of Producing Interval: 1643'FNL, 1908'FEL, Sec 12,T10N,R12W,SM 3. At total depth: 2221'FNL, 2242'FEL, Sec. 12,T10N,R12W,SM While the top of the Producing Interval lies more than 500 feet from a quarter section line, the bottomhole location falls within the 500 foot boundary. Therefore, there is the possibility that the productive interval may extend to within 500' of the quarter section line. It is for this reason that Unocal makes this application. Unocal is the sole owner and operator of all governmental quarter sections directly and diagonally offsetting the proposed location of the well. All affected quarter sections lie within ADL 18742, as shown on the required plat, attached hereto as Exhibit 1. The verification required by the regulation is attached as Exhibit 2. Given that only Unocal is affected in the surrounding quarter sections, no Affidavit of Notice of Mailing is attached hereto.
