The Commission set a public hearing date on the request for March 4, 2002. 2-On March 11, 2002, Unocal filed a Permit to Drill and requested a spacing exception allowing for the drilling of J-Pad 1 in Anchor Point. The Commission set a public hearing date on this request for May 2, 2002. Unocal hereby requests that the Commission withdrawl its Permit to Drill and its request for a spacing exception for the drilling of the J-Pad 1 well. 3- On March 22, 2002, Unocal sought the Commission's approval to deviate in its Griner-1 drilling program by filing a revised Permit to Drill, and further requested that the Commission allow for the drilling and testing of Griner-1 under its February 4, 2002 request for a spacing exception. By Conservation Order 467, the AOGCC gave conditional approval to drill and test Griner-1 based on the revised program requiring that a new request for spacing exception be submitted prior to producing the well. Interpretations of well data from Griner-1 failed to show commercial quantities of gas; therefore, Unocal has suspended its drilling program at Anchor Point, including the anticipated drilling of the J-Pad No. 1 well. Accordingly, Unocal will not be submitting a new request for spacing exception for the drilling of Griner-1. Thanks again. Hope this clears up any confusion my earlier email may have caused.
