Seamount Chairman Alaska Oil and- Gas Conservation Commission 333 West 7t" Avenue, Suite 100 Anchorage, Alaska 99501 Anchorage E~onMobil Production Re: Application for Exception to 20 AAC 25.055 PTU-15 Well Dear Commission Seamount: Exxon Mobil Corporation (ExxonMobil) requests a spacing exception under 20 AAC 25.055(a) to drill the Point Thomson PTU-15 well within 1,500 feet of the North property line of lease ADL 47559. The PTU-15 well will be drilled into the Thomson Sand gas condehsate reservoir and used as a gas injection or producing well in development of the reservoir. Pertinent information on the well is set forth below. The surface and bottomhole locations of the deviated PTU-15 well are within State of Alaska lease ADL 47559 as shown below: Surface Hole Location: 950 ' FSL, 855' FEL, S. 34 , T1 ON ,R23E, UM Top Productive Intervals 1047' FNL, 1000' FWL, S. 27, T10N ,R23E, UM Bottom Productive Interval 749' FNL, 867' FWL, S. 27, T10N ,R23E, UM Bottom Hole Location 749' FNL, 867' FWL, S. 27, T10N ,R23E, UM ExxonMobil has chosen this location to optimize development of and recovery from the Thomson Sand reservoir. The PTU-15 is intended as the injector well for IPS development. ExxonMobil is applying for a spacing exception to allow use of the well as a potential producer for development of the pool. The attached PTU Central Pad Well Location Plat (Exhibit 1) shows the PTU-15 wellbore, the portion of the wellbore for which the spacing exception is being requested and the relationship of the PTU-15 well to other existing and proposed wells and lease lines. ADL 377020 was issued effective August 1, 1991, for the area to the north of ADL 47559. The Alaska Department of Natural Resources issued a decision dated August 4, 2008, that ADL 377020 expired in December 2006. ExxonMobil, a 66.67% working interest owner of the lease, appealed that decision to Alaska Superior Court. No other working interest owner in the lease appealed the decision. In accordance with 20 AAC 25.055(d) and to address concerns raised by the Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Commission regarding ownership, ExxonMobil is providing this notice of application for permit to drill the PTU-15 and the request for a spacing exception.
