Unfortunately it was determined that the zones were not productive and a spacing exception would not be required. Aurora submitted the required log data after the work. If we decide to pursue additional work on this well, which may require a spacing exception, we will re-apply at that time. We therefore withdraw our November 2007 request. Norman, Chairman November 1, 2007 State of Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation Commission 333 W. 7~' Avenue, Suite 100 Anchorage, AK 99501 Re: Application for Well Spacing Exception Simpco Moquawkie #1 Development Gas Well (currently shut-in) Dear Mr. Norman: Pursuant to 11 AAC 25.055 (d), Aurora Gas, LLC (Aurora) hereby requests approval to allow the completing, testing and production of the existing Simpco Moquawkie #1 development gas well within 3,000 feet of other producible gas wells in the Moquawkie Unit area on the west side of the Cook Inlet. Approval for perforating the well has already been received as of this date. Attached is a plat depicting the location of this well. The new perforations in the Simpco Moquawkie #1 well will be targeting gas in the Upper Tyonek Formation, specifically the Carya 2-4 sands. These perforations are needed to access gas in the formation that is not accessible from the Moquawkie #1 well due to suspected casing failure and water intrusion. The closest wells to the shut-in Simpco Moquawkie #1 well that are capable of production from the same sands are the Moquawkie #1 and #3 wells, approximately 2,800 and 2,600 feet to the south, respectively. Another well in the area capable of production from the same sands is the producing Simpco Moquawkie #2 approximately 4,800 feet to the south. There are no other existing wells capable of production within one mile of the Simpco Moquawkie #1 well. Aurora is the lessee and Unit Operator of the Moquawkie Unit and all surrounding oil and gas leases and adjoining governmental sections. The only affected landowners of this application for exception are the Cook Inlet Region, Inc. (CIRI) and the Tyonek Native Corporation (TNC). The Notice required by AOGCC regulation has been sent to CIRI and TNC. The Affidavit attesting to this and the other facts contained herein is attached.
