UPHOLE LOGGING REQUIREMENTS - PRUDHOE BAY UNIT WEST END
Dear Commissioner Chatterton:
Development drilling in the Prudhoe Bay Unit Eileen West End by Standard
Alaska Production Company is scheduled to begin in January 1988.
Standard Alaska Production Company requests that uphole log data in the
following wells be used to satisfy regulation AAC 25.071 paragraph (a)
regarding uphole logging requirements:

Attachment I shows both surface and bottom hole location of the above
wells. The close proximity of the bottom hole location of each of the
wells to the pad location indicates that uphole log data in these wells
is representative of the uphole section that .would be logged from any
well drilled from W or Z Pad. Attachment II is a listing of the current
uphole log data available for each well. The data that is available on
all of the above wells is more than adequate to document stratigraphy
and fluid distribution.
With your concurrence, no further uphole data will be acquired from
either W or Z pad unless required by other working interest owners. If
you have any questions regarding this request please contact Karen Jay
at 564-5360.

Inspection of SOHIO'S
M.P. 13-15-11-12.
Plugged and Abandon.
Sunday June 28, 1981: This location had been partially cleaned
before.. 'i arrived'~, .... As the attached pictures show a lot of re-
tainer boom had been strung and a tremendous amount of absorbant
pads used.
The reserve pit had only a small amount of oil in the corner and
a vaccum truck was hauling water out of the pit.
The abandon~ment marker is not the required 4' above ground
level and the pad is rutted up. A lot of trash is scattered
over the pad.
I recommend to the commission that Petroleum Inspectors inspect
this location frequently until these problems are corrected.
In summary, I inspected SOHIO'S M.P. 13-15-11-12 location.

Gentlemen:
In regard to the above referenced regulations, your attention
is called to an attached list of wells which, according to our
records, have not received a final location inspection and
approval of clean up. In compliance with 20 AAC 25.170 Section
(a), "Within one year of suspension or abandonment of an on-
shore well", all clean up work is to be finished. Section (b)
provides the means for an extension of time if a valid reason
exists. Section (c) provides for on site inspection.
Consequently, we are presenting the following list of your
abandoned and/or suspended wells. ~any of these are now more
than one year old and are not in compliance wi~h regulations.
Others should have the final inspection completed this summer
while weather permitS. This list covers the years 1975 to
date. There may be some earlier wells that also need inspec-
tion. if you have any earlier wells to be inspected this
summer please inform us.
Therefore, we are requesting a sched, ule from you for this
sumner when our field inspectors can accompany your representa-
tives to.'-these sites for the final clean up inspection.

Witness Cement Plugs and
Sec. 9, TllN, R12E, UM
Permit #80-126.
Friday March 20, 21[. 22, 1981z After witnessing the susPension
6f -A~C0,S "D~"S' ' h 'gA'* i -we-nt to SOHIO'S M.P. 13-15-11-12 and
witnessed the cement plug setting for abandonment of the well
bore.
Plug #1 consisted of 254 sks of 16 ppg class G cement with 18%
salt and 1=%_ friction reducer. This plug was placed from 12,000'
to 11, 600'~-.
Plug #2 consisted of 127 sks of 16 ppg class G cement with 18%
salt and 1% friction reducer. This plug was spotted from 11, 310'
to 11,128'. After W.O.C. for 8 hrs. an attempt was made to tag
the plug. The D.P. was run to 11,310' and no cement was found.
We then circulated bottoms up and received no cement~%was very
little contaminated mud. It was then decided to set another plug
consisting of 127 sks. class G cement with 18% salt and 1% fric-
~O ' '
ti n reducer. After spotting plug the D P was P.O.H. and a 9
5/8" EZ drill Halliburton cement retainer was picked up and was
run to 11,015' The retainer was set and sheared out of with
35, 000 lbs. A~ter shearing out of the retainer th~_ D.P. was
stung back in and 50,000 lbs. was placed on retainer to insure a
good set. The D.~_. was then ~.nstung and a 50 sk. cement plug
placed from 11~000 to !0,891' .
The D.P. was then pulled out to 2,400' where a 132 sk. perma-
frost cement plug was set from 2,400' to 2, 100'.
I departed the location at this time and returned to Anchorage.
Jack Bart, Sohio drilling foreman contacted me at home Sunday
March 22, 1981 and informed me that the plug from 2,400' to
2,100' had been tagged with 30,000 lbs. of weight and was in
place. ~
Attached to this report are copies of Sohio's cementing summaries
of the well abandonment cement plugs I witnessed being set in
Sohio' s M.P. 13--15-11-12.

PROPOSED DRILLING AND COMPLETION PROGRAM
MP TRACT WELL (13-15-11-12)
Dry bucket 26" hole to 80' below ground level and cement 20" conductor to surface using
11 cu.yds, concrete. Install diverter. Drill 17 1/2" hole to 2700' and cement 13 3/8"
72# L-80 Buttress casing to surface using 3800 cu.ft. Permafrost II cement.
Blowout preventer program consists of 5000 psi W.P. pipe rams, blind rams and annular
preventer from 13 3/8" casing point to T.D. Maximum possible bottom hole pressure is
4480 psi at 9000' TVDss (based on original reservoir pressure). Maximum possible
surface pressure is 3580 psi based on a gas column to surface from 8800' TVDss and a water
column to 9000' TVD.
Drill 12 1/4" hole to 8735'~ TVD. Run 9 5/8" 47~ L-80 Buttress casing to 8735' TVD and
cement with 1700 cu.ft, cement. Class G cement. 9 5/8" casing will be hung at surface.
Drill out 9 5/8" shoe. Drill 8 1/2" hole to T.D. 9665'TVD, 13260' MD. Cement 7" liner
to 500' inside the 9 5/8" casing shoe with 380 cu.ft. Class G cement and 18% salt.
If well is productive, the well will be suspended. 9 5/8" - 13 3/8" annulus will be
cemented with 130 cu.ft. Permafrost cement preceded by Arctic Pack through FO cementer
at 2600'.
4 1/2" 12.69 tubing and production packer assembly will be run to 8350'~ TVD. A
subsurface safety valve with dual control lines will be placed at 2080'~. Displace
tubing to diesel. 'Install and test Xmas tree. Suspend for perforating subsequent to rig
release. Details of proposed perforations to be submitted on Sundry Notice to follow.
If unproductive, well will be plugged and abandoned.
