Blair Wondzell - AOGCC Date: March 1, 2000 William Isaacson M-17 Application for Sundry Permit - P&A for Sidetrack Operations APl #50-029-20628 Well M-17 is currently shut-in due to high watercut and is believed to be in communication with a nearby conductive fault. The well is planned to be sidetracked to a new bottom hole location as a vertical producer targeting an oil accumulation in western U-pad. The sidetrack is currently scheduled for Nabors 7ES beginning around April 1st. The pre-rig work for this sidetrack is planned to begin as soon,a~ ~~~ Application for Sundry is approved. ~?:'~~ ~ ~, :~~i.-" i~ ~' ~ ~?~ ~. Pre-Riq Work: * Notify the field AOGCC representative with intent to plug and aban~arage 1. RU E-line. Cut the 4Y~" L-80 tubing tail immediately above Magna Range BP set in the first full joint of tubing above the wireline entry guide. Allow tubing tail to fall to top of fill (fill last tagged at 11,710' ELM). NOTE: The type of cutter to be used is at the discretion of the Wells Group. 2. RU slickline and drift / tag as required to verify tubing tail has dropped and to determine approximate top of fill for upcoming cement P&A. 3. RIH with CTU and perform a cement P&A using 15.8 ppg class 'G' cement with adequate cement volume to fill the 7" liner from top of fill / junk to a minimum of 100' above the top perforation at 11,011' MD, plus squeeze 5 bbls to the perforations. Estimated minimum cement volume needed is 36 barrels and aggregate can be used as required to aid in plugging perfs. NOTE: Top of cement must be at a minimum of 10,911' for AOGCC compliance. Top Of cement may extend up and into the tubing tail as long as it does not interfere with the upcoming tubing cutting operations. ~P\~ ~,, 4. Rig up slickline, tag and document top of cement and drift tubing for upcoming tubing cut. 5. Liquid pack the 9-5/8" x 4-1/2" annulus to surface. Test the integrity of the cement plug and 9-5/8" casing by simultaneously pressure testing both the tubing and 9-5/8" annulus to 3000 psi for 30 minutes (tubing has a GLV stuck in GLM #1 at 9828'). Increase tubing pressure prior to the 9-5/8" annulus to avoid possibility of tubing collapse. NOTE: This step should be done prior to the tubing cut to allow additional trouble-shooting if either the cement plug or 9-5/8" casing is leaking. 6. RU E-line. Cut the 4 ½" L-80 tubing at approximately 6200' MD using a chemical cutter. This cut will not be fished, however avoid cutting a tubing collar. Displace the well to clean seawater by circulating down tubing through the tubing cut. Continue to circulate until clean seawater returns to surface. Freeze protect top 2200' MD with diesel. 7. Test the McEvoy 9-5/8" mandrel packoff and tubing hanger seals to 5000 psi for 30 minutes. 8. Bleed tubing and annuli pressures to zero. Set a BPV in the tubing hanger and test from below to 1000 psi. Secure well. 9. Remove the well house and flowlines. If necessary, level the pad. Please provide total well preparation cost on the handover form. Ri.q Operations: 1. MIRU Nabors 7ES. 2. Circulate out freeze protection and displace well to seawater. Set TWC. 3. Nipple down tree. Nipple up and test BOPE. 4. Pull and lay down 4-1/2" tubing from E-line cut and above. 5. RU E-line and make GR/JB run to top of tubing cut. Set BP on E-line at -5894' MD (set as needed to avoid cutting casing collar). 6. RIH with 9-5/8" Baker bottom-trip anchor whipstock assembly. Orient whipstock as desired and set on tubing stub. Mill window in 9-5/8" casing at -5870' MD. POOH. 7. Kick-off and drill the 8-1/2" intermediate section to Top Sag @ +_12,917' MD (8838' TVD). 8. Run and cement a 7", 26# intermediate drilling liner. 9. Make up and RIH with a 6-1/8" directional assembly to the landing collar. 10. Test the 9-5/8" casing and 7" liner from the landing collar to surface to 3000 psi for 30 minutes. 11. Drill the 6-1/8" production section as per directional plan to an estimated TD of 13,316' MD (9087' TVD). 12. Run and cement a 4 Y2", 12.6# solid production liner throughout the 6-1/8" wellbore. 13. Test the 4-1/2", 7", and 9-5/8" casing from the 4-1/2" landing collar to surface to 3000 psi for 30 minutes. Displace well to clean seawater above liner top. POOH LD DP. 14. Ail the infractions I could find were corrected except for one. The fire guard to put on the control lines has not been performed yet, but is on location. In summary: The RIG/BOPE inspection was satisfactorily performed with the exception of the fire guard material to go on the control lines.
