Logs and tapes were sent to you for each of these wells in the past year. Rbcently Anadrill has improved the density algorithm and re- created all of our LWD CDN data using the new algorithm. This processing decreases the density a couple of porosity units, making the readings more accurate. Please replace the first set of tapes and the first set of CDN logs we sent you so that these improved logs are used for your analyses. The NK-21 blueline and sepia you received in December were the re-processed version and, therefore, do not need to be replaced. Per 20.AAC 25.537(d) BP Exploration requests that these logs held confidential for 24 months. Please contact me at 564-4531 if you have any questions. To: AOGCC From: Subject: Mike Zanghi ~ .~_~.~ NK 12 Suspension Date: Mon, Nov 15, 1993 Niakuk 12 was being drilled as a producer to the Kuparuk formation. On November 13, 1993 BP decided to abandon the Kuparuk formation at this bottom-hole location based on anticipated uneconomical production. Mike Miller obtained verbal approval from Mr. Russ Douglass, AOGCC, Nov. 13, to suspend the well as follows: a cement plug across the Kuparuk formation, a cement plug across the surface casing shoe, and installation of a tubing hanger and master valve on the wellhead. A waiver to the suspension requirements is requested according to 20 AAC 25.110 (d). This surface casing is to be used in the future for another well drilled to another bottom-hole location. The attached schematic represents the location of the cement plugs. Verbal approval from Mr. Lew Grimaldy, AOGCC, was received by Mr. Tommy Johnson, PBD rig supervisor, concerning the 92' of cement inside the surface casing (less than the 100' regulatory requirement). This plug was tagged with 20,000# after waiting on cement for 14 hours. RECEIVED t, tOV I ,5 ~laska 0it & Gas Cons. Oommission Anchorage STATE OF ALASKA APPLICATION FOR SUNDRY APPROVALS 1. The plug was tagged with drillpipe using a mule shoe. The top of cement was found at 4,672 with the casing shoe at 4,763, which gave 91 feet of cement above the shoe. AOGCC requirements call for 100 feet of cement above the shoe and after discussing this with Tommy Johnson (Arco rep.) I waived the final nine feet under the conditions if the well was to be permanently abandoned or the additional nine feet was required by the AOGCC for this suspension, a coil unit would be brought in for placement of cement. The plug was tagged with 15,000 lbs. of weight set down on it and appeared solid. There were no signs of sticking when the tools were picked up from it.
