Perforation Plug Tag
BPX- PBU - Y-14
Prudhoe Bay Field
Sunday, September 24, 1.995: I traveled this date to BPX's PBU Y pad and
witnessed the tagging of the cement plug set to cover the existing perforations in
preparation to drill drill multi laterial holes.
! arrived on location at 7:00AM as the wire line unit was preparing to rig up. It lwas
discovered that the "stuffing box" packing was leaking. This was repaired and the
tools were run in the hole to 9,582' where it stopped. It was decided to pull out of
the hole and change out the tools. A larger tubing swedge was run and it stopped in
the same place the other ones did. After working the tools up and down for awhile
the crew finally managed to tag firm cement at 9,612'. The CTOC~wa$ 9,832'. the
perforations covered were at 10,210- 10,10234' and 10,052' to 10,080' giving 440'
of cement above the top perforations.
The plug was not pressure tested. It will be tested when the tubing is cut prior to the
rig moving on location.
Summary: I witnessed the tagging of the cement plug covering the existing
perforations in BPX's PBU well Y-14.
Attachment: BPX weilbore schematic.

WELL Y-14(44-33-11-13)
NRWO/Addperf Operation
A NRWO WSO was performed using the following fluids:
OPERATIONS SUMMARY
PACKOFF INNER SEAL FAILED-HAD TO REBUILD SAME. PERFORMED
WEEKLY BOP TEST. KILLED WELL W/FILTERED SEA WTR DWN COIL AND
OUT WING WHILE RUNNING IN HOLE. DID NOT BULLHEAD ANYTHING AS
THIS WELL IS WEAK ENOUGH TO BEGIN WITH.
BJ PUMP WAS RUNNING ROUGH WHILE PUMING CMT. DID NOT SWITCH
PUMPS AS OTHER PUMP WAS LOADED WITH SW, WHICH ACTS AS A
CEMENT ACCELERATOR. CUT BACK THE CEMENT VOLUME TO 20 BBL,
WHICH GAVE US ONLY SEVEN BBL EXCESS.
RAMPED UP AND NOTED A SLOW LEAK AFTER ATrAINING 2500 PSI.
TRIED CYCLING WHP DOWN TO 1000 PSI - NO GOOD.
CHECKED FLOWLINE AND IA - OK. WENT UP TO 3000 PSI, PRESSURE
BLED BACK QUICKLY. PROCEEDED TO START REVERSING OUT. GOT 9.5
BBL BACK ON THE REVERSE OUT. LOOKS LIKE WE RAN OUT OF CEMENT
ON THE SQUEEZE. WELL FAILED FINAL PRESSURE TEST WITH A RATE OF
0.25 BPM AT 1900 PSI. LEAK MAY BE IN THE SAG.
LEFT 500' MEOH IN THE TOP OF THE WELL, AND FREEZE PROTECTED THE
FLOWLINE. PESO'S TO DRIVE THE FLUID LEVEL DOWN WITH GLT AND
PERFORM AN INFLOW TEST.
NOTE: ALL WATER PUMPED BEFORE THE SQUEEZE WAS TREATED WITH 50
PPM SCALE INHIBITOR AND 0.2 % SURFACTANT.
NOTE: NO LIVE CELL DATA THIS JOB. LIVE CELL OUTLET PLUGGED OFF.

water disposal, water supply for injection, observation, injection for in-situ combustion.
Item 5: Indicate which elevation is used as reference (where not otherwise shown) for depth measurements
given in other spaces on this form and in any attachments.
Item 16 and 24: If this well is completed for separate production from more than one interval (multiple
completion), so state in item 16, and in item 24 show the producing intervals for only the interval reported
in item 27. Submit a separate form for each additional interval to be separately produced, showing the
data pertinent to such interval.
Item 21' Indicate whether from ground level (GL) or other elevation (DF, KB, etc.).
Item 23: Attached supplemental records for this well should show the details of any multiple stage cement-
ing and the location of the cementing tool.

Dear Mr. Reiley:
Enclosed is the approved application for permit to drill the
above referenced well.
The permit to drill does not indemnify you from the probable need
to obtain additional pe~its required by law from other
governmental agencies prior to commencing operations at the well
site.
To aid us in scheduling field work, please notify this office 24
hours prior to commencing installation of the blowout prevention
equipment so that a representative of the Conm~ission may be
present to witness testing of the equipment before the surface
casing shoe is drilled. Where a diverter system is required,
please also notify this office 24 hours prior to commencing
equipment inStallation so that the Con, mission may witness testing
before drilling below the shoe of the conductor pipe.

PROPOSED DRILLING AND COMPLETION PROGRAM
WELL Y-14 [44-33-11-13]
Install and cement 80' of 20" conductor to surface.
Install 20" diverter.
The Drilling fluid program will consist of an 8.5 - 9.5 ppg spud mud in the 17-1/2"
hole, a 9.0 - 9.7 ppg water base mud in the 12-1/4' hole and a 8.7 ppg water base mud
in the 8-1/2" hole.
Drill 17-1/2" hole to 2700' and cement 13-3/8" L-80 Buttress casing to surface.
Install blowout prevention equipment consisting of 5000 psi W.P. pipe rams, blind
rams, and annular preventer. Maximum possible bottomhole pressure is 4390 psi at
8800' TVDss based on original reservoir pressure. Maximum possible surface pressure
is 3330 psi based on a gas column to surface from 8600' TVDss and an oil column to
8800' TVDss.
Directionally drill 12-1/4" hole to the 9-5/8" casing point above the Sadlerochit
Sandstone. Run 9-5/8" 47# L-80 Butt/NSCC casing to within 5' of 12-1/4" TD and
cement in two stages: First stage using Class G cement around the 9-5/8" shoe. The
second stage to be downsqueezed in the 13-3/8" x 9-5/8" annulus followed by
nonfreezing fluid.
Directionally drill 8-1/2" hole to TD. Run 7" liner from TD to 250' inside 9-5/8"
casing shoe and cement using Class G cement.
Clean out to 7' float equipment. Change over to 9.6 ppg. NaCL completion fluid. Test
casing and lap to 3000 psi.
Run 9-5/8" production packer on 3-1/2' tubing with a sliding sleeve. Set packer 50'
above top of liner. A subsurface safety valve with dual control lines will be placed 100'
below base of permafrost. Install and test Xmas tree. Displace tubing to diesel. Set and
test packer.
Shut down rig operations for perforating subsequent to rig release. Possible fracturing
of the Sag River formation may be required. The well will be perforated in accordance
with normal practices.
