The location of proposed well SCU 42B-04 and relationship to adjoining properties and wells is depicted on attached Exhibit A, and is further summarized below: Surface Location: • Federal Lease A028997 • 1972' FNL, 355' FWL, Sec 3, T7N, R9W, Seward Meridian, AK Top of (Potential) Productive Horizon • Federal Lease A028997 • 1843' FNL, 4' FWL, Sec 3, T7N, R9W, Seward Meridian, AK Projected Bottom Hole Location: • Federal Lease A028997 • 1577' FNL, 1251' FEL, Sec 4, T7N, R9W, Seward Meridian, AK Nearest Location where Property Ownership Changes: • 4920' FEL of Federal Lease A028997 Based on seismic and subsurface data available to Hilcorp, this well is necessary to maximize the recovery of oil from the Hemlock Oil Pool. The proposed well targets un-drained reserves that cannot be reached by existing wells conforming to applicable spacing rules. If successful, this deviated well will be drilled to approximately 9,300' MD / 10,805' TVD. Hilcorp anticipates spudding this well in May 2013. Pursuant to Rule 5, a spacing exemption is required because SCU 4213-04's well path falls within the NE 1/4 of Section 4, Township 8 North, Range 8 West, which in turn contains two other wells ' C.O. 123A, Rule 7 (Administrative Approval) provides that "[u]pon request of the Operator and showing that all affected parties have been notified of such request, the Committee may authorize any operation reasonably designed to further the progress of the project and maximize the recovery of oil from the Hemlock Oil Pool in the Swanson River Field. See Exhibit A.2 The correlative rights of all affected owners, landowners and operators will be protected by approval of the requested exception. Hilcorp, as Operator, owns a 100% working interest in the Swanson River Field. The Bureau of Land Management owns the mineral interests associated with federal lease A A028997 and adjacent lease segments, and there are no other affected owners, landowners or operations within a'/2 mile radius of the proposed well. At the date of this mailing, a copy of this application was sent by certified mail to the only affected owner/landowner, the Bureau of Land Management. Also enclosed is an affidavit stating the undersigned is acquainted with the facts and verifying that all facts asserted herein are true.
