Doyon rig # 14 was standing by for cement cure time when I arrived. At 1400 hour's they ran in and tagged cement at 9348 RKB. Don Wester (BPX Drilling foreman) informed me that the top of the sag formation was at approximately 9620'. This should leaveql~' of cement on top. DOC THRU: Blair Wondzell ~ 7/~o P.I. Supervisor FROM: Bobby Fostor~0'~ Petroleum Inspector PHONE NO.: 279-1433 .. SUBJECT: PERF CMT PLUG BPX - PBU- S -22 PTD # ~0~ [-/d~ P.B. FIELD SATURDAY, JULY 24, 1993 I was contacted by Jerry Bixby, BPX repesenative, informing me that a cement plug had been set in well S - 22 to cover the perforations between 10,058 -9986 and 9976 - 9916 and the plug was ready to be tagged. I arrived at the location at 7:00 A.M. and Camco was going in the hole with a tubing tail Iocator and weight bars. The packer was set at 9412' - E-line measurement - and the tubing tail was located at 9480 - Camco wire line measurement. The calculated T.O.C. was 9649'. The top of the cement was tagged at 9844' giving 72' of cement over the top of the top perferations. I talked to Mark Malone, BPX represenative, and he agreed that more cement was needed over the perf's. It was decided that another plug would be set to cover at least another 150' above the top perf's. SUNDAY, JULY 25, 1993 I met with Jerry Bixby, BPX' representative, at S - 22 and witnessed the tagging of the cement plug that had been set 7 - 24 - 93. The plug was tagged at 9606', giving 210' of good cement above the top of the top perferations. Jerry told me that the plug would be pressure tested later in the day after the wire line unit pulled the bottom gas lift valve. Monday, July 26, 1993 I spoke to Jerry this AM and told that the plug had been tested to 2500 psig and held for thirty minutes. The pressure drop to 2370 psig. The pressure drop was attiubted to gas in the casing and the tubing. With AC)GCC representative on location to witness operation, run in with slickline and confirm that top of cement is at least 100' above the top perforation. If the cement is tagged more than 100' below the tubing tail, set a magna-range plug in the tubing tail to prevent future fluid swap-out when laying a kick-off plug. 4. WLIH in and cut the tubing in the first full joint above the packer based upon the original completion tubing tally. NOTE: Middle of first full joint estimated at _+9,190' md. 5. Circulate well over to seawater. If the rig is going to move in within a couple of days do not freeze protect. Otherwise freeze protect well with diesel to 2000'. 6. Bleed any pressure from the tubing, inner annulus and outer annulus to zero. 7. Install a back-pressure valve. Remove the well house and flowlines. Level the pad and dig out the cellar. The drilling fluid program will consist of an 8.5 - 9.5 ppg spud mud in the 16" hole, a 9.0 - 9.5 ppg water base mud in the 12-1/4" hole and an 8.8 ppg water base mud in the 8-1/2" hole. Drill 17-1/2" hole to 2700' TVD(BKB) and cement 13-3/8" L-80 Buttress casing to surface. Install blowout prevention equipment consisting of 5000 psi W.P. pipe rams, blind rams, and annular preventer. Maximum possible bottomhole pressure is 3710 psi at 8800' TVD(SS) based on original reservoir pressure. Maximum possible surface pressure is 3330 psi based on a gas column to surface from 8600' TVD(SS) and an oil column to 8800' TVD(SS). Directional drill 12-1/4" hole to the 9-5/8" casing point above the Sag River Sandstone. Run 9-5/8" 47# L-80 NSCC casing to within 5' of 12-1/4" TD and cement with Class G cement around the 9-5/8" shoe. The annulus will be freeze protected by dry crude. Directional drill 8-1/2" hole to TD. Run 7" liner from TD to 250' inside 9-5/8" casing shoe and cement using Class G cement. Clean out to 7" float equipment. Change over to NaCI completion fluid. Test casing and lap to 3000 psi. Run 9-5/8" production packer on tubing. Set packer 50' above top of liner. A subsurface safety valve with dual control lines will be placed 100' below base of permafrost. Install and test Xmas tree with diesel. Displace tubing to diesel. Set and test packer. Shut down rig operations for perforating subsequent to rig release. The well will be perforated in accordance with normal practices. Fluids incidental to the drilling of a well will be pumped down the 9-5/8" x 13- 3/8" annulus of the well. Tubing Size: 4-1/2", 12.6# NT13CR-80 TDS TBG with 5 GLM's.
