ARCO hereby requests extensions of "suspended" status for the following wells.
Additionally, an exception to the surface plug requirement of AOGCC 20AAC25.110(c)
is requested. All of these wells are located in safe and accessible locations on
producing drill sites that are monitored daily. The individual status of each well is
detailed below.
West Beach State #3, APl # 50-029-20208-00, Permit # 76-0034-0
This well was Certified Capable of Producing in Paying Quantities on February 1, 1979.
The well was with suspended with a cement plug. An abandonment cap has been
installed and tested. This well has the potential for use as a gas injection well to support
the West Beach #4 well either by re-entering and/or sidetracking.
Pt. Mclntyre P2-59 (PM-9), APl # 50-029-22096-00, Permit #90-0140-0
This well has not been tied into the facilities. It tested at a rate of 1208 BOPD from the
Kuparuk formation. It was suspended with tubing and packer and with a plug in the
tubing. The SSSV is closed and a back pressure valve is set. To produce this well will
require a workover. This well is being evaluated as a producer. More data from offset

Re:
Suspended Wells
Compliance with regulations
Dear Mr. Sutter:
ARCO Alaska Inc. has 25 suspended wells as shown on the attached lists:
ARCO SUSPENDED WELLS PRIOR TO 1980 and ARCO SUSPENDED WELL SINCE 1980.
The applicable regulation is as follows:
20 AAC 25.110 SUSPENDED WELLS (a) Upon application by the operator
under 20 AAC 25.105(e), the commission will, in its discretion,
approve the suspension of a well if the well
(1) encounters hydrocarbons of sufficient quality and
quantity to indicate the well is capable of producing in
paying quantities as reasonably demonstrated by well tests
or interpretive formation evaluation data; or
(2) is reasonably demonstrated to have future value as a
service well.
For each well on the attached lists of suspended wells, please provide
data showing that the well meets the criteria of (1) or (2) above or
advise as to your plans to abandon the well.
Wells that meet the criteria of (a) above that you wish to maintain
as suspended, as required by 20 AAC 25.110(e), must have well site
inspections this year prior to snow covering the locations.

Subject: P2-50A Waiver of requirements 20 AAC 25.110
BP Exploration requests permission to change the status of P2-50A from
operation shutdown to a suspended status including a waiver to the requirements
of a bridge plug between 200 feet and 300 feet as required in 20 AAC 25.110
This would enable the well to be reentered and sidetracked to a development
location for the Pt. Mclntyre field. This work is scheduled for the 1st quarter of 1995
when a larger rig will be located in the Pt. Mcintyre field.

Dear Mr. Johnston:
The P2-50A bottom hole location originally submitted, 1021' SNL, 776'
EWL, Section 19, T12N, R15E, has been cancelled.
The P2-48 well is planned to replace the bottom hole target originally
planned for the P2-50A well.
Future plans for the P2-50A wellbore will not place the bottom hole
location in the same quarter section as the P2-48 bottom hole location
while the Point Mclntyre Field is classified as an undefined pool.
Yours Sincerely,
Mike Zanghi

Ms. Leigh Griffin, Commissioner
Alaska Oil and Gas Conservation and Commission
3001 Porcupine Drive
Anchorage, Alaska 99501
Dear Ms. Griffin,
AOGCC requirement 20 AAC 25.110 (c) requires a retainer to be set
between 200 and 300 feet below the casing head and cap with 100
of cement. ARCO Alaska, Inc. requests a waiver from this regulation
on the Point Mc Intyre P2-50A well. A casing inspection log may be
run in this well to determine the extent of casing wear. If the plug is
set, the log could not be run.
If the well will be suspended for more than 1 year, a cement retainer
can be set at the above mentioned depth on wireline.
The well is to be temporarily suspended with a plug set across the
cut section (12375-13455' md). The plug will cover the cut section
and extent 100 feet up into the 9-5/8" casing. This plug meets the
requirements as set forth in 20 AAC 25.105 (g-l). The plug will be
tested with sufficient weight to confirm its location.
Very Truly Yours,
Mike ~~hi

Dear Mr. Zanghi:
Enclosed is the approved application for permit to redrill the above
referenced well.
The permit to redrill does not exempt you from obtaining additional
permits required by law from other governmental agencies, and does not
authorize conducting drilling operations until all other required
permitting determinations are made.
Blowout prevention equipment (BOPE) must be tested in accordance with
20 AAC 25 035. Sufficient notice (approximately 24 hours) must be given
to allow a representative of the Commission to witness a test of BOPE
installed prior to drilling new hole. Notice may be given by contacting
the Commission petroleum field inspector on the North Slope pager at
659-3607.
Sincerely,
BY ORDER OF THE COMMISSION

RIH with a bridge plug for the 9-5/8" intermediate casing and set at 13000' md.
Viscosify brine to build milling fluid·
Pick up section mill· Run in the hole to PBTD.
Sp°t a 17 ppg balanced mud pill from PBTD to the base of proposed section.
Pull up to the prOposed section starting depth and mill a 60' section.
Run in with open'ended 5" drillpipe. Spot a balanced cement plug across section. Perform
hesitation squeeze. Hold squeeze pressure on cement for 1 hour and then POH.
PU drilling assembly. RIH and dress off cement plug to the kick off point, 5' below the top of the
section.
Displace well to oil base core fluid,
Orient and kick off from 5' below the top of the section. Directionally drill to core point as per
directional plan. Condition mud for coring· PU coring assembly and core as per on-site
directions. PU drilling assembly to ream cored section and TD hole. Run E-Line logs.
Set and cement 7" liner. PU 6" BHA and clean out to PBTD. Test liner to 3000 psi.
Displace well to 9.8 ppg brine, Recover core fluid. Run Gyro. Freezed protect well with 600'
