Superviso~~C.~)_-' FROM: Bobby Fos~er,~ ' SUBJECT: Petroleum Inspector FILE NO: PJ91G2DD.DOC Perforation Plug BPX - PBU - X-19 A PTD # 92-0144 Prudhoe Bay Field Sunday, July 28,1996: i traveled this date to BPX's PBU X-19A and witnessed the tagging of the cement plug set across the perforations in preparation to redriil the well. The cement slurry was" bull headed" into the perf's from 10,012' to 9,782'. Some of the perforations had previously squeezed but enough cement was placed to insure good coverage. The CTOC was 9,000' and the TOC was tagged using a wire line unit at 8,774'. Due to a pump truck not being available/the pressure test will be performed at a later date. I spoke with Stoney Mannis, wire line acting supervisor, and told him that any future, plu.q_s, that were_to be tagged would have to be pressure tested before tagging or at the same time. SUMMARY: I witnessed the tagging of the cement plug set across the perforations in BPX's PBU well X-19A in preparation to redriil the well. Tuesday~ July 30, 1996: I witnessed the satisfactory 2000 psig pressure test of this plug this date. Test the 9-5/8" mandrel packoff to 5000 psi. Notify an AOGCC representative prior to commencing plug-back operations. R/U cement unit & establish an injection rate. Bullhead and squeeze perforations at 9894' - 10012' MD Displace to leave the top of cement in 7" liner no lower than 9794' MD. Pressure test as per AOGCC requirements. NOTE: Top of cement must be to at least 9794' MD to comply with State regulations on cement being 100' MD above perforations, With an AOGCC representative on location to witness the operation, R/U slickline and tag the top of the cement to verify cement top is at least at 9794' MD. RIH and cut the 4-1/2" 13Cr-80 tubing with a jet cutter in the middle of a full joint of tubing at approximately 7650' MD. NOTE: This will place the tubing cut approximately 205' MD below the bottom of the section window cut in the 9-5/8" casing, Displace the tubing and wellbore to 8.5 ppg seawater. Freeze protect top 2200' MD with diesel. Bleed tubing and annuli pressures to zero. Set BPV in the tubing hanger and test from below to 1000 psi. Secure well. Remove the well house and flowlines. If necessary, level the pad and dig out the cellar. The rig was completing a redrill on PBU well X-19A. The 9-5/8" casing had a bridge plug set at 9000 feet. The BOPE Test Report is attached for reference. Tool pusher Don Dubois kept the test moving smoothly. The rig was clean and in good shape. The test started at 9:00 PM and lasted for 5 hours. There were 4 valve failures on the choke manifold which failed to hold pressure. All of the choke manifold valves were thoroughly greased and all but 2 retested satisfactorily. These 2 valves were later rebuilt and retested satisfactorily. All other BOP equipment tested well. Summary: The BOP test on Nabors 18E lasted 5 hours and there were 4 failures. The redrill is designed to effectively drain the reserves in the area and provide definitive information regarding the water picture as it relates to the development drilling plan in the area. SCODe' The scope of the X-19 A redrill is as follows: Plug and abandon the original perforations and pull the existing 4-1/2" tubing completion. Follow with an 8-1/2" packed hole assembly and drill to the target at 150' MD below the OOWC of -8998' ss (see directional plan for more details). Re-test the 9-5/8" casing pack-off and replace as needed. Clean out the liner to the landing collar and test to 3500 psi. Displace well to filtered and inhibited seawater. Run a 4-1/2" 13CR completion string and 7" packer. Space out, land tubing hanger and set packer. The packer should be set at about 9500' with the tubing tail at least 50' above any future objective. Test tubing to 4000 psi. Test tubing by casing annulus to 3500 psi. Set two-way check valve. Remove BOP's. Install and test the production tree to 5000 psi with diesel. Pull the two-way check valve. Shear RP valve in the upper GLM and freeze protect the well. Set a BPV. Release workover rig. Complete appropriate documentation and hand-over to Production for perforation.
