Box 196612 Anchorage, AK 99519-6612 Attention: Nabors 2ES Drilling Engineer I have compiled a summary of Anadrill's perfom-~ance on DS 9-36A SERVICES PROVIDED Directional Survey Service with DWOB and DTOR (DSW) was picked up on 31-MAR-93 to begin the kickoff at 8930'. Gamma Ray was picked up on 02-MAR-93 at 9093' and run to TD at 9532'. OPERATING STATISTICS Total MWD footage for the well was 1230' and was accomplished over 3 bit runs in 95.5 total hours operating. There were seven operating days and one standby day on this well. No failures or problems were recorded on this well. ,lOB PERFORMANCE Evaluation of data in the window indicates new fort-nation being drilled at approximately 8330', which came 27 feet after beginning the kickoff. This is seen in the formation strength (FORS) and penetration rate (ROP) variables of the MEL log. Of the 30 surveys taken the final survey calculated a TVD of 8959.73, a NORTH of 1450.06, a EAST of 168.88 with a vertical section of 772.73. The final angle was 57.7 with an azimuth of 10.8 deg. Hole condition.s throughout the 8 1/2" hole were generally good as seen on the SPIN log until 9093' when the bit was changed out and the mud motor was laid down. Another near bit stabilizer was picked up to=,five a locked assembly to attempt to hold angle into and through the tamer,, zone. A chert was soon encountered when the bit was run to bottom causing the surface torque to increase to 10-13 Kft/lbs on the average, with DTORQ (downhole torq) 10-13 Kft/lbs on the average, with DTORQ (downhole torqe) running from 7-10 Kft/lbs. All of this torque was eratic with the rotary table stalling out on bottom. This could be differentiated from a locked cone by the the way both the surface and downhole torque increased steadily over the first 100' of the bitrun instead of a high, spikey and sudden increase in both the downhole torque and XSTQ indicative of bearing failure, and by the fact that there were now 3 full gauge stabilizers turning in a very hard formation due to the fact that the mud motor had been laid down. On inspection at the surface the first stabilizer was a full 1/2" under gauge, the second was 1/4" under gauge and the third was 1/16" under gauge. The bit was found to be 1/16" under gauge with the bearings being good. When the new bit was run in at 9231' the same torque was apparent until 935()' when the first shale was encountered at the base of the Sadlerochit sands. Both squeezes have failed to isolate high volume water production from the Upper Romeo. A very Iow chance of successful third squeeze is anticipated, The sidetrack/completion strategy below is recommended to increase oil rate and compare with the coiled tubing drillout methods currently being attempted to establish better Lower Romeo production. The scope of the 9~36A redrill is as follows: Plug and abandon the original perforations and pull the 7" x 5-1/2" tubing. Mill a 50' section in the 9-5/8" casing starting at 8290' MD. Lay a cement plug across the section, kickoff and drill a new 8-1/2" hole to a target about 500' NNE of the original wellbore. Obtain openhole logs (DLL/DENS/NEUT/GR). Run and cement a 7" 26# L-80 / 13CR liner. Clean out to just past the float shoe. Change over to non-damaging Xanvis polymer system and drill out to TD through the lower Romeo interval with a 6" BHA. Obtain openhole logs (DLL/DENS/NEUT/GR). Run 3-1/2" x 7" isolation packer and accessory equipment if viable Victor target is identified by on- site Operations Engineer. Isolation packer setting depth to be determined on-site based on openhole Icg results, Run 4-1/2" 12.6# 13CR-80 tubing string with 6 GLMs. This project is presently scheduled for Nabors 2ES rig beginning March 23, 1993. duration of the rig work is estimated at 17 days.
