(MD) Inspection Type: Side-Track Candidate Inspection RECEIVED 2,5 2000 COMMENTS ' ~ ~''; ' ~.~$ka O, il & G~,s Cons: C?nmissJ0.n This log was run to assess the condition of the tubing with respect to corrosive aha m,ec~If/~ aamages. The caliper recordings indicate that the tubing mostly ranges from good to fair with respect to corrosive wall penetration. One penetration recorded Jn the body area of the pipe, and measuring 47% wall penetration, is recorded Jn Jr. 196. Several other joints in this same area show maximum penetrations of 33% to 46% recorded Jn the tool joint areas of the pipe, where the joint collar material could provide additional protection from annulus communication as the penetration approaches full tubing wall thickness. The distribution of penetrations recorded Jn both the body and tool joint areas of the tubing logged are illustrated Jn the following pages of this report. The damage recorded appears in the forms of general corrosion, lines of corrosion, and isolated pitting, with a majority of the most significant damage appearing above GLM 2. General corrosion / erosion is indicated from approximately 6,500' to surface, with large areas of wall loss consistently indicating 15% to 23% maximum wall penetration, and 8% to 11% maximum cross-sectional metal loss. All deeper penetrations appear as isolated pitting in or near the tool joint areas. No significant areas of tubing restriction are recorded throughout the tubing interval logged. MAXIMUM RECORDED BODY WALL PENETRATIONS: Pitting (47%) Jt. 196 @ 6,280' MD Line of Pits (39%) Jt. 156 @ 4,977' MD Isolated Pitting (37%) Jt. 244 @ 7,791' MD Isolated Pitting (34%) Jt. 202 @ 6,468' MD Line Corrosion (31%) Jt. 160 @ 5,137' MD MAXIMUM RECORDED CROSS-SECTIONAL METAL LOSS: A maximum cross-sectional metal loss of 11% is recorded in numerous joints over the interval 2,800' to surface. This wide spread general wall loss appears to be a result of corrosion/erosion activity. MAXIMUM RECORDED ID RESTRICTIONS: No significant ID restrictions, in excess of 0.05", are recorded throughout the interval logged. {Field Engineer' R. Liddelow Analyst: J. Drilling & Wells Coiled Tubing Drilling Team Well E-32 is scheduled for a through tubing sidetrack to be drilled with coiled tubing. The following summarizes the procedure required to prep E-32 for drilling and is submitted as an attachment to Form 10-403. A schematic diagram of this proposed completion is attached. ]. A Tubing Integrity Test on 8/26/00 was successful. 2. The well will be drifted to approximately 11650'md (70° inclination) with slickline. 3. Using service coil, an inflatable bridge plug will be set at -11740' in the 7" liner to abandon the existing perforations and 4 ½" slotted liner. A -314' cement cap will be set on top of the bridge plug from 11740' up to the tubing tail at 11426' (12 Bbl of 17 ppg class G cement). 4. The window will be milled off of a cement ramp "whipstock" with service coil with the KOP at approximately 11550'md. 5. A sidetrack of approx. 2250 ft into lower Zone 1 will be drilled with CT. 6. The sidetrack will be completed with a cemented 2 3/8" liner that will overlap the existing 7" liner and 3 ½" tubing tail to 11350' (TOL). Service coil is expected to perform steps 3,4,and 5 on the week of September 18. Drilling coil is expected to begin the sidetrack drilling on September 24, 2000. Mark O. When I arrived the rig was ready to test and we began immediately. The test went well with no failures observed. I found the control's on the accumulator to be somewhat "sticky" along with hydraulic fluid on the floor, the rig mechanic will check this and repair. The rig crew's test procedure and execution showed that testing Bop's is a normal occurrence. I should add that the longer than normal test time is attributed to my checking the accumulator system for leak's. The area surrounding the rig is kept neat and clean, proper access is provided for.
