History of J -09A. Well J -09A is a rotary ST completed in Sept 1994 in Zn 2A and 1 B. The well came on strong with high oil and gas rates. In July 1997, an IBP was set at 11,155' MD in an attempt to shut -off gas, which was suspected to be entering the wellbore from the toe perfs. The IBP did not shut -off gas as anticipated. A 2nd attempt was made to shut -off gas with an IBP set shallower at 10,500' MD in Sept 1997. Unfortunately the well would not flow, so the IBP was pulled February 1998 and production was restored. In late 2005, J -09A was shut -in for TxIA comm. A LDL run in 2006 identified a leak at -5,290', and a patch was set in April 2007 which restored integrity. When back online, it began cycling for high GOR. An IBP was set in March 2009 to shut off the lateral, and adperfs were shots at 9954' -64', 9932' -47', 9904' -24' to access lower GOR oil. 3 months later slickline found the IBP not set and in the SSV; the plug was recovered. J -09A has remained shut -in since • early 2011 due to high GOR. Reason for sidetrack. J -09A is no longer a competitive well due to high GOR. The • proposed sidetrack will access a target in Zone 2A & 1 B. Proposed plan for J -09B is to drill a through tubing sidetrack with a Coiled Tubing Drilling rig on or around April 15 2013. The existing perforations will be isolated by a cement squeeze job to cement the whipstock in place in the 7 -5/8" tubing & by the primary liner cement job. The sidetrack, J -09B, will exit the existing 7 -5/8" liner and kick off in Zone 2 and land in Zone 1B then invert into Zone 2A. This sidetrack will be completed with a 3 -1/2" x 3 -1/4" x 2 -7/8" L- 80 liner in the production interval. The following describes the work planned and is submitted as an attachment to Form 10 -403. When a Form 10 -403 is submitted requesting approval to plug a well for redrill, the initial reviewer (Art or Steve D.) will check to make sure that the "Plug for Redrill" box in the upper left corner of the 403 ./ form is checked. If the "Abandon" box is checked, we will cross that erroneous entry out and initial it on 1 � both copies of the Form 10 -403 (AOGCC's and operator's copies). 2. On the Form 10 -403 if "Abandon" is checked in Box 15 (Well Status after proposed work), Art or Steve / D. will cross that erroneous entry out and initial it on both copies of the Form 10 -403 (AOGCC's and r operator's copies). Instead, we will check the "Suspended" box. Guy and Winton will serve as quality control for steps 1 and 2. 3. When Steve McMains receives the Form 10 -403 with a check in the "Plug for Redrill" box, he will enter the existing code " IBPRD" into RBDMS. This code automatically generates a comment under the History tab stating "Intent: Plug for Redrill." 4. When Steve McMains receives any Form 10 -407, he will check the History tab in RBDMS for this comment. If he sees the "Intent: Plug for Redrill" code, and cannot find any evidence that a subsequent re -drill has been COMPLETED, he will assign a status of SUSPENDED to the well bore in RBDMS, no matter what status is listed on the 10 -407. Steve will also change the status on the 10 -407 form to SUSPENDED, and will date and initial his change. If Steve does not see the "Intent: Plug for Redrill" comment or code, he will enter the status listed on the Form 10 -407 into RBDMS. 5. When the Form 10 -407 for the redrill is received, Steve M. will change the original well's status from suspended to abandoned. 6. The first week of every January and July, Steve M. and Steve D. will check the "Well by Type Work Outstanding" user query in RBDMS to ensure that all of the Plug for Redrill wells have been handled properly. At this same time, Steve M. and Steve D. will also review the list of suspended wells for accuracy. Notify an AOGCC representative prior to commencing plug-back operations. Pre-rig work: RU slickline unit. WLIH and open 4-1/2" OTIS 'XA' sleeve at 9641' md. WLOH and RD slickline. MIRU BJ cementers. Bullhead 35 bbl of cement down tubing to abandon perforations. Cut the 4-1/2" tubing near 8300' MD. Displace well to seawater. Freeze protect and set a BPV. Test intermediate casing pack-off to 5000 psi. Move in drilling rig. Test 9-5/8" intermediate casing pack-off if not done during pre-rig work. Pull BPV. Circulate diesel freeze protection cap from well and recover for future use. Install a BPV and test tree plug. Remove the production tree. Install BOP's and test to 5000 psi. Remove the test plug and BPV. Pull and lay down the 4-1/2" tubing· RIH and set bridge plug at +6300' md. Spot a 18 ppg pill on bottom and cut a 50' section in the 9-5/8" casing starting from about 6100'MD. Spot a balanced cement kick-off plug (180 cubic feet minimum) through open-ended drillpipe from 100' below the base of the section to 200' above the top of the section· Run in with an 8-1/2" steerable drilling assembly with gamma ray/directional MWD and dress the cement to 5' below the section top. Kickoff and directionally drill to 9200' md (_+50' into the Sadlerochit) at approximately 36° as per the attached directional plan. Run a 7-5/8". 29.7#. L-80. STL liner assembly to bottom in the 8-1/2" hole. Space the liner hanger (L-80) and top isolation packer (L-80) about 150' up inside the 9-5/8" casing. Cement the liner in place with the total cement volume based upon 50 % open-hole enlargement plus the 80' shoe volume, 150' lap volume and 150' excess on top of the liner with drillpipe in the hole. Re-test BOP's as needed. Run in with 6-3/4" steerable drilling assembly with directional/GR/MWD on 3-1/2" drillpipe. Test casing to 3500 psi for 15 min. before drilling out float shoe and 10' of new hole. Displace well with non-damaging (FIo-Pro Xanvis polymer) drilling fluid. See MI Drilling Fluids recommended displacement procedure. Continue to drill and build angle to 90° at _+10042' md and then drill approximately 1738' of 6-3/4" horizontal section to TD as per Geologist/Op's Engineer onsite. Make a conditioning trip with a 6-3/4" hole-opener for the open hole section with a 7- 5/8" casing scraper spaced to clean the liner. Install a 5-1/2". 17". L-80 . STL SOLID liner with 5-1/2" X 7-5/8" packer/hanger. Space packer/hanger to be set within about 150' of the 7-5/8" liner shoe. Cement 5-1/2" liner. Set packer and hanger. POOH. PU 3-1/8" BHA. RIH and cleanout liner. Displace well to seawater. POOH and LDDP. Run the 4-1/2" L-80 completion string assembly. Space out and circulate with corrosion inhibitor. Install a BPV and test plug. Remove BOP's· Install and test the production tree to 5000 psi, Pull tree test plug and BPV. Set packer. Test the tubing x casing annulus to $500 psi for 30 minutes.
