Well 18-15A was replaced by 18-15B (permit # 97-0072, APl # 50-029-21755-02) when the permit was approved 5/5/97. The replacement well incorporates a deepening operation of the existing well bore. This extension, along with the original hole, will be used for production of hydrocarbons. A review of both well files indicates administrative abandonment of the originating well bore is appropriate according to current AOGCC procedures for wells 'where additional permitted extension is drilled from an existing well bore. 20 AAC 25.005(e) requires a Permit to Drill for each hole drilled below the conductor unless drilled to straighten the original hole, sidetrack junk, or correct mechanical difficulties. In addition, AOGCC data bases require each conductor has only one permit number and API number. Administrative abandonment of the original permit only eliminates duplication in the databases. Information for the original well and its replacement will be maintained in their respective files. The operator has been notified of this action. All future correspondence with the AOGCC should reflect the new permit number, AP1 number and well data. As the attached AOGCC BOPE Test Report shows there were no failures of the equipment tested. The kelly will be changed out on this rig after laying the tubing down and picking up a string of 3.5" drill pipe for the side track drilling and the valves will be tested at that time. The lower pipe rams will be test after the tubing is pulled. The lower rams cannot be closed while the blanking test plug is being used because of clearence - not enough room between the neck of the plug and the pipe rams. The rig was clean and all equipment seemed to be in good working order. The location was clean and there was good ac, c.~ss to allareas of the rig. PUT RIVER Sand: Is located at 8037' 'l'VDss / 8517' MD. Based on offset data it is pressured up to 4200 PSI or 10.05 ppg EMW. Our MW when drilling this formation should be no less then 10.2 ppg. It is possible that this sand is depleted due to being in communication with Sadlerochit. We drilled this sand in 18-02a and found out that 10.2 ppg MW was adequate. Gas Cons. R/U E-Line and RIH to make a chemical cut inside of 3.5" tbg as close to TIW Assembly as possible which is located at 10139' MD. However, the cut must be below 8450' MD. R/D E-Line Unit. ( KOP will be at 8200' MD ) 2. Circulate SW down tbg and up the inside annulus. F/P top 2500' MD. 3. Set TVVC. Test it to 1000 psi from the above. ( Do not lock open TRSSSV ) Remove the well house and flowlines. If necessary, level the pad and dig out the cellar. Please provide total well preparation cost on the handover form. , Rig-Work: 1. Move in drilling rig. 2. Pull TWC. Circulate diesel freeze ' protection cap from well and recover for future use. , Install a BPV and test tree plug. Remove the production tree. ( Prior to removing the tree please make sure that the BPV was tested to 1000 psi since it counts as a barrier only if it is tested from the 'below', In addition to that please make sure that TRSSSV is closed as it is going to be our second barrier while N/D tree and N/U BOPs. 4. Install BOP's and test to 5000 psi. Remove the test plug and BPV. 5. Pull and lay down the 3-1/2" tubing from the cut to surface. Kickoff and directionally drill to the target at 8675 TVDss and 90° useing GR / MWD only.. Obtain GR / NEU / Sonic formation evaluation logs via DP Conveyed method starting from the top of Put River to TD. Run a 7" 29 # L-80 liner assembly to bottom in the 8-1/2" hole and space the liner hanger (L-80) and top isolation packer (L-80) about 150' up inside the 9- 5/8" casing. Refer to Standard recommended practices for liner running procedure. Cement the liner in place with the total cement volume based upon 50 % open-hole enlargement plus the 80' shoe volume, 150' lap volume and 150' excess on top of the liner with drillpipe in the hole. ( Note: if the caliper log is available use it and add 20% to caliper volume ). Set liner hanger / packer with 4200 psi. Reverse out clean. Re-test BOP's as needed. Run in with 6'-- steerable drilling assembly with GR / MWD on 4-1/2" x 3-1/2" drillpipe. Test casing to 3500 psi for 15 min. before drilling out float shoe and 10' of new hole. Displace well with non-damaging (FIo-Pro Xanvis polymer) drilling fluid. Drill approximately 500' of 6" hole to TD as per Geologist on site. Make a conditioning trip with a 6" hole-opener for the open hole section with a 7" casing scraper spaced to clean the liner. ( This may not be necessary ) Install a 4-1/2" NT-80S slotted liner with 4-1/2" X 7" packer / hanger. Run in on drillpipe with a 2-1/16" wash string inside the slotted liner. Space packer / hanger to be set within about 150' of the 7" liner shoe. Position packer above the 7" liner shoe and circulate. Set packer and test. Release from the packer / hanger and displace the drilling fluid with filtered seawater but no corrosion inhibitor.
