Application for Sundry Permit - P&A for Sidetrack Operations
APl #50-029-22089-01
Sundry approval is requested to P & A the subject well in preparation for a sidetrack drilling operation.
SUMMARY SIDE-TRACK PROCEDURES
Pre-Rig Work: See Wellbore Diagram, 4 W' Tubing Must be cut below 8900' for side-track(Kick-
off-point, KOP) operations.
* Notify the field AOGCC representative with intent to plug and abandon*
1. "S" MIRU Slickline. Drift/tag liner top packer tailpipe SN "XN" @ 10524" MD. Note collapsed 5 Y2"
liner @ 11,960' MD.
2. "O" Load and Kill IA and tubing. Perform injectivity test to verify ability to pump into the well.
3. "O" Plug & abandon w/15.8 ppg Class G cement. Overdisplace to perfs with seawater and diesel
for freeze protect. Place 5 bbls minimum behind pipe into perf's.
4. "O" Max TOC is @ 8900' to allow tubing to be cut and sidetrack operations to be conducted.
Minimum TOC is 100' above top perforation.
"S" Drift/Tag Top of Cement, TOC, test, and document TOC per AOGCC requirements.
"C" If TOC is higher than KOP, MIRU coil unit with 4.5" mill to clean up cement stringers. Re-test
cement plug and record on chart.
"O" Test the 7 5/8" casing annulus to 3500 psi against the packer. Hold 1000 psi on the tubing to
prevent from collapsing the tubing.
"E" MIRU E/L unit. RIH with jet cutter and sever tubing at or below anticipated side-track depth.
A 7 5/8" ClBP & whip-stock will be set after the drilling rig removes production tubing. Jet cutter is
acceptable as this tubing will not be fished. Note the depths of the GLM's in the tbg string. Circulate
clean seawater around IA and tubing.
"O" Test the FMC 7 5/8" mandrel pack-off to 5000 psi and service lock down studs by backing out and
re-torquing one at a time. Test the tubing hanger pack-off to 5000 psi and service each LDS
"O" Check with the Drilling Rig Supervisor regarding rig timing and determine if freeze protection to
diesel will be required. Bleed tubing and annuli pressures to zero. Set a BPV in the tubing hanger
and test from below to 3500 psi. Secure well with 0 psi on tubing and annulus
"O" Remove the well house and flow lines. Level the pad and dig out the cellar. Please provide total
well preparation cost on the hand over form.

SUMMARY
Injectivity test attempted. WHP was rock solid at 2500 psi after 35 bbls pumped. RIH
to top of fish at 12542'. Saw 200 lb weight drop, so decided not to investigate further.
No problems getting through SABL-3 packer or milled out X nipple. CT PUH has 2k of
pull at all depths in this liner. This is due to geometry. 5 bbls of cement mixed. 68cc
FL, TT 1hr surface plus 5 hours, 46 minutes at 170deg. Circulate 1.5 well volumes to
cool down. Laid 2.6 bbls in well via flexible hose from BJ unit. Well pressure steady at
500 psi. Ramped to 1500 psi. Inner annulus in direct communication so squeeze was
spongy and had to build it at 1.9BPM to 1500 psi. Shut down pumps and pressure
held steady for 10 minutes. Reversed out to 12500' CTMD. Made jet pass down from
12000' to 12500' and then back up to 12000'. Final reverse out to hard tag at 12500'.
Cement has set up early due to insufficient well cooling (expected). Top of Cement
at 12500' CTMD.

Objective:
BP propose to continue with the planned sidetrack of well P-20 to prove up
the productivity of the southern block of the area covered by the Western
P pad Development Plan. Early drilling of this sidetrack will significantly
reduce the perceived uncertainty of the full development in this area and is
possible as the well has existing production facilities.

2. Pull BPV. Circulate out freeze protection cap from inner and outer annuli and
recover for future use.
3. Install a TWC and test from below to 1000 psi. ND the production tree.
4. N/U BOP's. Test BOP's to 500 / 5000 psi against 'RNC. Test annular to 500
/3000 psi. Remove the test plug.
.
Pull and lay down the 4-1/2" tubing. Number all joints and write well number
on each. Inspect for NORM. ( Check the location and depth of the cut on
production handover form ) NOTE: It is not clear as to what the running
threads are on this hanger thus it is recommended that spear be used )
6. P/U bridge plug and RIH to set it at @ 10930' MD ( 10' above the cut tbg )
.
P/U Section Mill on 31/2" DP & RIH. Displace to milling fluid after spotting 18
ppg 10740'. POOH after ensuring the hole is cleaned and free of metal
cuttings.
.
RIH open ended to 10840' MD and spot a kick-off plug from 100' below the
base of the section at 10840' MD to 200' above the top of section at 10495'
Pull 12 stands, shut in and perform hesitation squeeze. Attempt to achieve a
1000-2000 psi squeeze but do not displace TOC below 100' above section
top. ( Total cement volume should be @ 20 bbls ( 100 sks )
,
Run in with an 6.3/4" steerable assembly (MWD - directional) and dress the
cement to 5' below the section top. Circulate hole clean. Kickoff and
directionally drill to the begining of short radius curve at 12268' MD ( 8757'
TVDss ). See attatched directional plan #2.
,
After DP conveyed logs or E-Line ( logging program is GR / Res / Sonic )
make a conditioning trip with a 6.75" hole-opener for the open hole section
Rabbit the drill string. Note: Prefer method of logging is E-Line however that
may not be possible due to hole angle and dog legs therefore DPC set up
should be available just iun case.
10.
Run a 5.5 17#, L-80, NSCC liner with 7-5/8 x 5.5" packer / hanger to bottom in
the 6.75" hole and space out for about 150' of lap. Refer to Standard
Recommended practices for liner running procedure. Reciprocrate liner 20-
30' during circulation and cementaiton.
11.
Cement the liner in place with the total cement volume based upon 50%
open-hole enlargement plus the 80' shoe volume, 150' of lap with DP. ( @
300 sks ) Set liner hanger / packer with 4200 psi. Reverse out clean.
20.
P/U 4.75" clean out bit on 3.5 DP. RIH and clean out 5.5" liner to landing
collar. Circulate hole clean. Pressure test the liner lap to 3500 psi for 10 min.
Displace the hole with filtered seawater with corrosion inhibitor. Test liner
lap/casing to 3500 psi for 30 minutes. POOH.
