Friday, April 20, 20.0!: I traveled to BPXs K Pad and witnessed the 30-day retest of the safety valve systems. As the attached AOGCC Safety Valve System Test Report indicates i witnessed the testing of 11 wells and 22 components with 3 failures. The pilots on wells K-06, K- 07 and K-09 tripped below the required set point. The pilot on well K-09 was retested and operated properly. Wells K-06 and K-07 normally flow into the Iow- pressure system (at 200 to 300 psi) but were recently switched into the high- pressure system. The pilots on these two wells were left in the iow pressure setting (125 psi) and tdpped near this set point but were failed on this test due to the higher flowing tubing pressure required to produce into the high pressure system. These two pilots were adjusted to the higher set pressure (550 psi) and retested at this time. Merv Liddelow performed the testing today; he demonstrated good test procedures and was a. pleasure to work with. A walk through inspection of the well houses on this pad was performed during the SVS testing with no problems noted. All well houses inspected were reasonably clean and all equipment appeared to be in fair conditions. Summary: I witnessed the 30-day retest of the safety valve systems at BPXs K- Pad in the Prudhoe Bay Field. The target polygon maintains 150ft of standoff from the faults to the north and west, but only 75- 100ft from the small south bounding fault. Small changes in amplitude along the top and base event indicate very small faults (<10') may occur within the polygon. The well i~ expected to penetrate 1 significant fault (8725' TVDSS; 9,815' MD) prior to entering the target with approximately 20ft of missing section. Depths will most likely be modified as the target is approached (depth uncertainty is _+20ft). Operational Summary 1. Set and test BPV. Remove wellhouse and flowlines, level pad, dig out cellar. 2. Test 9-5/8" packoff to 5,000psi, and function lock down screws. 3. MIRU. Circulate well with 8.5 ppg seawater. Set test dart in BPV (TWCV). ND tree, NU BOP's and test same. Pull BPV and test dart. . M/U and RIH with straight hole drilling assembly. Tag cement plug and tie-in with CCL log. Drill cement to 7699', 5' past the top of the window. POOH and RIH with 8- 1/2"sidetracking assembly. Kick off sidetrack and drill 8-1/2" lateral to 7" casing point at 10,300'. 5. Run and cement 7" liner from 7,444' to 10,300'. Cleanout cement if necessary. Test liner lap to 3,500psi. .
