2-26B Application for Sundry Permit - P&A for Sidetrack Operations

Sundry approval is requested to P & A well 2-26A in preparation for a sidetrack operation. Well 2-26 was
directionally drilled and originally completed in July of 1982. The 2-26A completion followed in June of 1997
with a 2 7/8" production liner in a horizontal wellbore with Zone 2 perforations from 11190- 11600. The well
is currently shut-in due to high GOR and obstructed 2 7/8" liner. The well is planned to be sidetracked to a
new bottom hole location as a conventional horizontal producer targeting Zone lB. Any wells with surface
locations within 30' (Well head/Rig separation) of 2-26 will need to be shut in for rig move activities.
Charge costs associated with the pre-rig work to AFE #4J0445. A Sundry Notice is PENDING submittal to
the state. Please confirm that Sundry & AFE approval have been received prior to beginning operations.

Planned Pre-Rig Operations
1. Plug & abandon with 15.8 ppg Classs G cement w/CTU. There is a wireline fish in the hole at 11,140'
and perforations 11,190-11,600 in the 2 7/8" liner. A cement plug should be placed from the top of fish
to a minimum of 100' above the top perforation (11140 to 11,040). Max TOC allowable is +/- 10,200' to
allow tubing to be cut and sidetrack at ,-,10050'. Additionally, 5 bbls of cement should be squeezed into
the perforations. Tag, test, and document top of cement per AOGCC requirements.
2. Test the FMC Gen3 9 5/8" mandrel pack-off to 5000 psi and service lock down studs by backing out and
re-torquing one at a time. Test the tubing hanger pack-off to 5000 psi and service each LDS.
3. Test the 9 5/8" casing to 3000 psi against the packer. Hold 1000 psi on the tubing to prevent from
collapsing the tubing.
4. RU WL unit. Punch the tubing at,-,10050'. Circulate clean and equalize to clean seawater. RIH with
appropriate cutter and sever 5 1,,~,, tubing above the 9 5/8" x 5 ~" Packer/PBR. (Anticipated side-track
depth is +/-9800' where a 9 5/8" ClBP & whipstock will be set after the drilling rig removes the 5 ~/~"
tubing.) Jet cutter is acceptable as this tubing will not be fished. Note the depths of the 8 GLM's in the 5
~" tbg string.
Check with the 7ES Rig Supervisor regarding rig timing and determine if freeze protection to diesel will
be required. Bleed tubing and annuli pressures to zero. Set a BPV in the tubing hanger and test from
below to 1000 psi. Secure well with 0 psi on tubing and annulus
5. Remove the well house and flow lines. Level the pad and dig out the cellar. Please provide total well
preparation cost on the hand over form.
Ri_~ Operations:
1. MIRU Nabors 7ES.
2. Circulate out freeze protection and displace well to sea water. Ensure BPV is set.
3. Nipple down tree. Nipple up and test BOPE.
4. Pull and lay down 5-1/2" tubing from E-line cut at -9,900' MD. Replace 9-5/8" pack off as required.
5. RU E-line and make 9 5/8" GR/JB run to top of tubing cut. Set 9 5/8" CIBP on E-line at -9,800' MD (set
per Baker recommended depth to avoid milling casing collar). Pressure test the 9 5/8" casing to 3000
psi.
6. PU 4" DP & collars. TIH with 9-5/8" Baker bottom-trip anchor whip-stock/mill assembly. Displace w/
LSND mud. Orient whip-stock, with MWD as desired and set. Mill window in 9-5/8", 47# casing at
-9,800' MD. POOH.
7. Kick-off and drill 8 ~" hole from 9,800' to 10,457' into the top of the Sag River formation. Run
MWD/GR/RES LWD. -657' of hole w/LSND mud.
8. Run and cement a 7" 26# L-80 intermediate drilling liner with 150' of lap to TD. TOL -9,650' -807'
length.
9. Make up and RIH with a 6-1/8" directional assembly to the landing collar.
10. Test the 9-5/8" casing and 7" liner from the landing collar to surface to 3000 psi for 30 minutes.
11. Drill out 20' & FIT. Displace w/Iow density mud. Drill 6 1/8" hole from 10,457' to TD of 12,590' in Zone
lB. Run MWD/GR/Res/DEN/NEU real time LWD. 6 1/8" hole - 2133'.
12. Spot liner running pill in open hole & POOH w/DP.
13. Run 4 Y2", 12.6# L-80 IBT-Mod production liner w/150' of lap to TD. Pump cement, drop wiper plug
and displace with "perf pill" followed by mud. 4 ~" liner length ~ 2283'. TOL - 10,307'MD.
14. Test the 4-1/2", 7", and 9-5/8" casing from the 4-1/2" landing collar to surface to 3000 psi for 30 minutes.
Displace well to clean sea water above liner top. POOH.
15. Drill pipe convey, over-balanced, perforate 4spf, -1000', of the production interval as determined by Icg
analysis. POOH w/DP.
16. Run WLEG, PKR, 3 GLM's, - 10300' of 4-1/2", 12.6#, L-80 IBT-Mod tubing, to the 4-1/2" liner top @
-10307'. Reverse circulate clean seawater w/corrosion inhibitor.
17. Drop ball/rod & set packer @ ~10,300" MD and test the tubing to 3500 psi and annulus to 3000 psi for
30 minutes. Shear the RP.
18. Set BPV & test from below to 1000psi. ND BOPE & Nipple up adapter and test the tree to 5000 psi.
19. Freeze protect the wells tubing & annulus to -2000' and secure well.
20. Rig down and move off.
Post-Rig Work:
1. MIRU slickline. Pull the ball/rod and RHC plug from 'X' nipple below the new production packer. Install

milling BHA & milled a window through the 7" liner at 10843 - 10848' MD. POOH w/window mill.
6/8/97:
RIH w/formation mill & dressed window then displaced the well to FIo-Pro.

CT Sidetrack and Completion
Intended Procedure
Objective:
Plugback existing wellbore. Directionally drill a horizontal well from the
existing wellbore. Complete with 2-7/8" cementedliner.
Intended Procedure:
Cement squeeze the current perforations and plugback the existing
completion to - 10810' md.
Mill window in 7" casing at -10840' md. Drill 10' of formation and
perform Leak off test to 0.5 ppg above the highest anticipated mud
weight. Build angle to ~90°.
Dkectionally drill 3-3/4" x 1750' horizontal well to access Lower Romeo
reserves.
· Run and cement 2-7/8" liner to TD.
· Perforate selected intervals.
· Place well on production.
