Because there is Iow risk of cross flow in the existing perfs (9562'-10180') and the well is relatively tight, along with the plan to cement the liner of the proposed sidetrack to above the window, placing cement above the CIBP adding further isolation in the wellbore, a CIBP should be sufficient to prep the S-08A for sidetrack. The sidetrack, S-08B, will kick off from a window milled in the Shublik through 7" and 5" liners, after cement squeezing all existing perfs. The S-08B target is Zone 4. The following describes work planned to prep for sidetracking and is submitted as an attachment to Form 10-403. A schematic diagram of the proposed sidetrack is attached for reference. 1. Tubing and liner drifted. 2. Gas lift mandrels dummied off. 3. Kinley caliper tubing and liner. 4. Master valve, wing valve and tree successfully tested to 5000psi. 5. Wellhead seals tested for integrity. 6. Tubing integrity verified. 7. Pick up after stall and lost ground to 9038.8'. Made little headway. POOH to check BHA. Found flex joint had parted leaving mill and 28" of flex jt in hole. WO WL unit to fish. RU Halliburton WL. RIH with overshot. 04/18/99 4 9041' Continue rig standby while fishing with WL. Make four runs with overshot in various tool string configurations without recovery. Kept getting alongside fish. Make two LIB runs which showed fish top may be near high side (no small decentralizer available to show exact position). Make one run with smaller OD overshot and one run with spear with no recovery. LD WL tools for crew rest and gather tools for next runs. Backup whipstock for 5" 15# liner is in Holland. Continue rig standby. 04/19/99 5 9041' Continue stand-by with rig. St, 'Reservoir Engineer Revised Liner Lap for S-08a 'Well 8-08 is scheduled for a through tubing sidetrack to be drilled With. coiled tubing, The Permit to, Drill, 98-228, was issued on Nov. 18, 1gOB, Since that tlme the s~detrack has been re-designed to accommodate a future sidetrack. The S-0Ba sidetrack window will. be at the top of Zone 4, as deep as oOSSi,ble for this Zone 4 sidetrack. There is future sidetrack potential r this welt if the 7" liner is accessible below the top of the Sag River, To provide for this future sidetrack option, BP is requesting' that the 2 7/8" liner for S-08a be terminated 50 ft above the window.' This requires a variance from AAC 2{5.030 (7)(d)(§)(B) that requires a,. "minimum o1' 100 feet of cemented lap~. A 50 ft lap will place tt~e top or the cemented 2 7/8" liner within the Shublik interval, some 78 ft b'elow the top of the Sag River. ,In the event that the ,50 ft of cemented lap fails a pressure'test, 'tl~e lap, will be either cement squeezed' or the 2 7/8" liner top PBR willie utilized for the installation of a.2 7/8" extension with a retrievable:liner top packer set in the 4 ~" tubing. This extension with packer w0uld, b~ retrieved to provide access fo~ a future sidetrack. A schematic drawing of the proposed 50 f~ lap and contingency liner, top,packer is attached for reference. The sidetrack, S-08a, will target attic oil in Zone 4. This sidetrack will be conducted in two phases. Phase 1: set whipstock and downsqueeze abandonment cement: Planned for 11/10/98. · S-08 has passed a mechanical integrity test. The well has been drifted and a Kinley caliper has been run. A final Schmoo-B-Gone treatment will be pumped prior to setting the whipstock. · A permanent whipstock will be set on ELine at approximately 8,975' MD. · Existing perforations will be abandoned with approx. 15 bbls cement. Abandonment cement will be downsqueezed past the whipstock and squeezed to 1500 psi with AC)GCC witness. This procedure is described in more detail in the Form 10-403. Phase 2: Mill Window and Drill Directional Hole: Planned for 11/18/98. Directional drilling coil tubing equipment will be rigged up and utilized to mill the window (if not done by service coil) and drill the directional hole as per attached plan. The completion will be a fully cemented 2 7/8" liner. Mud Program: - Phase 1: Seawater - Phase 2: FIo-Pro (8.8 - 8.9 ppg) Liner Program: - 2 7/8", 6.16#, L-80, ST-L liner will be run from TD to approx. 8,291' MD and cemented with approx. 26 bbls. cement. The well will then be perforated with coil tubing conveyed guns. Well Control: - BC)P diagram is attached. - Pipe rams, blind rams and the CT pack off will be pressure tested to 400 psi and to 4000 psi. - The annular preventer will be tested to 400 psi and 2000 psi.
