Within a year the well was producing at high GOR. A CIBP for gas shutoff was set at 10970' in March 2001. The CIBP was unsuccessful and 2-34A has been a swing well since 2001. In 2006 a SCMT log was run and the Top of Cement was located @ 10320'. Additionally, a Caliper log that was run on the 4-1/2" x 3-1/2" tubing from deviation to surface showed the tubing in good condition. Well work was done early in 2009 to seal a leak in the casing head. A PPPOT-IC indicated that the communication path was sealed. The well came back online at the end of January and continued showing a high GOR trend that climbed above marginal. The well passed aMIT-IA to 3000 psi on November 06, 2009. REASON FOR SIDETRACK: Different well work options were analyzed to improve the oil rate and decrease the gas rate. One of the options explored was to mill out the CIBP set at 10,970' in 2001, but even in the best case scenario, the GOR will continue in the marginal edge. Another option contemplated was to add perforations in the closest point to the parent well to try to communicate the 02-34A wellbore with the slotted liner in 02- 34. This option was discarded because the reports indicated the slotted liner was abandoned by pumping cement all through it. The last option studied was to add end of life perforations, but due to the poor quality in Zone 1 A, compared to Zone 1B or 2A, it will require a big length of perforations to improve the recovery. Even if the end of life perforations were developed they will need to work with solution GOR, and due to the high gas, low rate of oil in the well, the calculations indicated it will be not enough to have the well back online. The idea to set a CIBP and add new perforations was passed over due to the high cost of the coiled tubing operation. We1102-34A produces above marginal with minimal remaining value and no wellwork options. The proposed plan for 02-34B is to drill a through tubing, dual string exit sidetrack with the SLB/Nordic 1 Coiled Tubing Drilling rig on or around A_pri120, 2010. The existing perforations will be isolated by a cast iron bridge plug (CIBP) along with cementing the 3-1/2" x 7" annulus. The sidetrack, 02-34B, will perform a dual string exit in the existing 3-1/2" tubing and 7" liner and kick off into Zone 2A. The target is Zone lA just above BSAD/HOT. The following describes the work planned and is submitted as an attachment to Form 10-403. Schematic diagrams of the proposed sidetrack and its contingency are attached for reference.
