COMMISSIONER JESSIE CHMIELOWSKI
PETROLEUM ENGINEERING
Jessie Chmielowski is the current Petroleum
Engineering Commissioner of the Alaska Oil and Gas
Conservation Commission (AOGCC). She was
appointed to a six-year term in 2019. Prior to her
appointment, she worked as the Senior Petroleum
Engineer in the Bureau of Land Management Alaska
State Office where she oversaw federal onshore oil and
gas activities in NPR-A and the Kenai Peninsula. Prior
to that, she worked as a Senior Petroleum Engineer for
BP Alaska. During her career with BP, she spent three
years as an engineer on the North Slope. She is
knowledgeable about field operations, wellwork, drilling,
completions, artificial lift, facilities, metering and well
integrity issues in Alaska having worked as an engineer on a variety of reservoirs and
fluid types (light oil, viscous oil, heavy oil and gas).
Commissioner Chmielowski holds a B.S. in Chemical Engineering and a B.A. in
Environmental Engineering Science from Rice University in Houston, TX. She is
registered as a Professional Petroleum Engineer with the State of Alaska. She resides
in Anchorage with her family.
