The 2nd event(s) occurred due to a cascading CGF shut down, where the required gas cuts continued to escalate as one tandem was lost, followed by the boosters, followed by a second tandem. All 3 GC's flared in excess of an hour as almost 800 mm gas had to be cut. If you would like to discuss further, please do not hesitate to contact me at 659-4472. The AOGCC reviews the monthly gas disposition reports to determine if the Operator is acting in accordance with good oil field engineering practices and conservation purposes. At its discretion, the Commission will either authorize the flaring or classify the flaring as waste. For each Flow Station 1 event where gas was flared or vented less than one hour in October 2001, please provide the following additional information: (a) date(s) of flaring event(s); (b) actual time(s) flaring occurred; (c) total time flared per event; (c) a brief description of the activity underway or problem troubleshooting associated with the flared volumes; and (d) a brief description of the action(s) taken to minimize the flared gas volume. In addition, please provide an explanation as to why the Flow Station 1 pilot and purge volumes are twice that of either Flow Station 2 or 3. ~~~~ We look forward to a written response by the end of the business day, Tuesday, January 15, 2002.
