First Determination of Cause:
1. High gas transit line pressure, ambient air temperature 48 degrees, too much gas for current
ambient air temperature.
Action Taken to Stop Flaring:
1. WOA reduced production rates and shut-in 6 wells equaling 100 mmscfd. Wells were shut-in or
choked back starting at 04:34 hours.
EOA shut-in 100 mmscfd at 05:31 hrs.

From:
Michael Bolkovatz, GPB Prod Optim Team
This note is to inform you of an extended flaring
incident at GC2.
On August 15, starting at 04:33, the ambient
temperature starting increasing at a higher than normal rate. This caused
a higher than allowable gas transit line pressure and GC2 flare valve
opened. Wells totaling 100 MSCFPD were immediately SI on the WOA, and an
additional 100 MMSCFPD was SI on the EOA at 05:31 when the flare valve did
not reseat. This was enough rate cut/pressure decrease to reseat the flare
valve at GC2 at 05:44. A total of 394 MSCF was flared over this 1 hr, 11
min period.
If you require additional information, please don't
hesitate to call me.
