> An extended flare incident occurred on June 09, 2003~;i'~,},Booster
compressor 1802 shutdown due to a governor malfunction at 08:30 a~. Later
that same day, the CGF boosters unloaded due to a similar instrumentation
malfunction. In order to alleviate the high gas transit line pressure that
these compressor shutdowns caused, flaring was initiated at FS1 and GC1.
During the first event, FS1 flared 17.1 MMSCF over 1 hr, 17 mins, and GC1
flared 11.3 MMSCF over 1 hr, 5 mins. During the 2nd event, FS1 flared 3.9
MMSCF over 26 mins, and GC1 flared 3.0 MMSCF over 29 mins. Total flare time
was 4 hours and 8 minutes, total flare volume was 513 MSCF.

From:
Michael Bolkovatz, GPB Prod Optim Team Leader, 907-659-5566
> An extended flare event occurred on September 9, 2003. CGF Booster
compressor 1801 shutdown due to a discharge temperature sensor failure. In
order to control the gas transit line pressure, CGF, FS1, GC1, and GC3
immediately started flaring while simultaneously reducing gas production by
550 MMSCFPD. Also, CGF lost both MI compressors as a result of Booster 1801
shutting down. Several attempts were required to restart the MI compressors.
The CGF Booster was down for 15 minutes, the MI machines were down
intermittently for 10 hrs and 21 minutes. Total CGF flare volume was 14,104
MSCF (10 hrs, 21 mins intermittent flare), FS1 flare volume was 13,153 MSCF
(1 hr, 5 mins), GC1 flare volume was 9,792 MSCF (47 minutes), and GC3 flare
volume was 845 MSCF (54 minutes) .
