t W: Flare Incident
Steve,
I got the FS1 team leader's reply last night and offer the following information on the 10/6 FS1
flare event.
Initially, 1803 TC shut down due to high vibration. The first restart failure was also due to high
vibration. On the second restart attempt, 1803 started and loaded without incident. 1803 has
been running smoothly since then. This leads the FS1 operations staff to conclude that the high
vibration shut downs were due to either false vibration probe readings or a possible "coupling
lock up". The vibration issue has not reoccurred in the last two months.
If you require additional information, please do not hesitate to contact me at 659-4472.
Thank you,
Hal Tucker
Greater Prudhoe Bay Production Optimization Team Leader

Steve,
I haven't forgotten your request. I've sent a note to the FS1 team leader to get some additional
details on the event. When I get his comments, which won't be until next week (vacation), I'll
respond to your request.
Thank you,
Hal

In Octobers monthly gas disposition reports sent to
AOGCC, you reported a huge flaring event at FS -1. On
October 6, 2003, you report that a 1803 TC tripped on high
vibration and 10,278 mcf was flared. Jim Regg asked me
to contact you and ask what caused the high vibration and
