A high temperature sensor on the diesel fuel manifold activated the automatic shutdown of the turbine. To stop the flaring, 43 wells were shut in until the turbine was safely restarted. The purge volume remains the same at 6 mscf/day. The pilot volume has increased from 6 to -32 mscf/day. The pilot volume is now a metered volume. The reason for the increase is that this pilot gas is being used for 2 things - 1) to keep the flare pilot lit and 2) to work an eductor to draw any liquids out of the flare and return them to the scrubber. Air is used for assist gas now so that volume has gone to zero. Let me know if you need more on any of these issues. Anne 564-5826 -----Original Message----- From: Fiedler, Anne M Sent: Thursday, October 14, 2004 2:35 PM To: 'Stephen Mcmains' Subject: RE: August Gas Disposition 1) Milne Point installed a new, vertical flare in late August. This flare uses air for assist gas instead of fuel gas so you I 11 see the assist gas go to zero in the Sept report. pilot purge IS slightly higher with the new flare and 11m tracking down the technical reason for that. 2) I talked with the Operations Lead Tech at Endicott regarding this flaring. He said they were depressuring and deinventorying the facility over the 14th and 15th. The volumes shown were flared volumes, not assist gas. The comment refers to the need to use some assist gas to prevent black smoke during this time. 3) live requested this programming change for the Northstar report. Let me know if you need more information. Jim Regg wants to know is 100% of this assist gas, 1285 mcf? *Northstar *- Something has to be corrected for this facility reports. They are still the most confusing reports to review. All future reports must be sorted by date and time. It might take some revisions to your reports, how they sort or how they are automated. Too much time is spent trying to follow what is going on. The events greater than 1 hour must be listed by *date and time*. They must include duration of event, mcf gas flared, incident description and remediation. Steve 20f2 10/27/20044:46 PM ..
