The CPS (Central Power Station) shut down at 23:20 on 5/8/08 when air supplying the fuel control valves
was interrupted during snow removal. This caused all production facilities and the gas plants to shut
down. Power was partial re- established at 02:13 and most of the facilities were back on shore power by
03:30. Listed below are the facilities that flared for more than an hour or total volume flared exceeded 5000
MSCF as well as the facilities that flared but did not exceed this criteria to help with month end reports.
Most of the flaring carried over to 5/9/08 and since the flare reports are midnight to midnight I have provide
total volumes. Also, provided extended flaring events while starting up.
FS1 - Annex flaring began at 23:13 on 5/8 and ended at 23:28 (15 minutes), the total volume flared for the
event was 14583 MSCF
- Old plant flaring began at 23:13 on 5/8 and ended at 23:28 (15 minutes), the total volume flared for
the event was 14166 MSCF
- Power outage caused the Annex to SESD on low instrument air pressure. Flaring began at 23:45
and ended at 23:59 (14 minutes), total volume flared was 950 MSCF
FS2 - Flaring began at 23:15 on 5/8 and ended at 23:30 (15 minutes), the total volume flared was 1400
MSCF
FS3 - Flaring began at 23:20 on 5/8 and ended at 0445 on 5/9 (323 minutes), volume flared on 5/8 (39
minutes) was 905 MSCF, volume flared on 5/9 (284 minutes) was 2032 MSCF, the total volume flared for
the event was 2937 MSCF.
- Common line 7D manually depressured to flare due to leaking upstream valves after power outage.
Depressuring stopped once common line 7D was at desired pressure. Flaring began at 02:40 and ended at
04:15 (95 minutes). Total volume flared was 22 MSCF

outage. Depressuring stopped once common line 6C/13 B was at desired pressure. Flaring began at 05 :45
and ended at 07:20 (95 minutes). Total volume flared was 303 MSCF.
- Facility restart post Fieldwide power outage. Intermittent flaring from vessels while attempting to start,
load and stabilize compressor trains. Flaring began at 10:40 and ended at 22:50 (730 minutes). Total
volume flared was 11,310 MSCF.
GC1 - Flaring began at 23:16 on 5/8 and ended at 23:52 (36 minutes). Total volume flared was 1650
MSCF
- While bring rate up following shut down, LPS compressors exceeded maximum gas capacity and
discharged to flare. Flaring event began at 11:40 on 5/9 and ended at 13:15 (95 minutes). Total volume
flared was 10 MSCF
GC2 - Did not go to flare on 5/8.
- During startup an extended flaring event due to low rates during start up. Flaring began at 09:35 on
5/9 and ended at 23:59 (864 minutes). Total volume flared was 15,000 MSCF.
GC3 - Flaring began at 23:26 and ended at 23:59 (33 minutes). Total volume flared was 1,417 MSCF
LPC Flaring event began at 23:12 on 5/8 and ended at 02:43 on 5/9 (211 minutes), volume flared on 5/8
was 7977 MSCF (48 minutes), volume flared on 5/9 was 12873 MSCF (163 minutes), the total volume
flared for the event was 20,850 MSCF. This was a black smoke event.

This is a continuation of flaring at FS3 on the 6C/13B commonline. They have been trying to complete the
welding on this line and have had difficulty getting the LEL (Lower Explosive Limit) down to an acceptable level for
welding. The current plan is to shutdown DS6 tomorrow or Tuesday in order get the sleeve welded. Once welding
has taken place they will move forward with purging the line and smart pigging.
The flaring is due to leaking valves that will be replaced. The flaring volume for each 24 hour period from 7/24
until yesterday has been 103 MSCF.
Since they have not been able to complete the welding I wanted to give you the volumes through July and we
now have 2 days in August with the same volume each day (103 MSCF).
July 24th to July 31st 103 MSCF each day and the total volume during this time was 824 MSCF.
August 1st and August 2nd 103 MSCF each day and total volume of 206 MSCF to date.
I will continue to update this event as progress is made.
