The February 3rd extended flaring occurred off the 1801 STV /IP compressor when the machine shut down due to low lube oil pressure. Five start up attempts were required to start the 1802 back up machine. The event began at 22:55 on 2/3/08 and ended at 00:45 on 2/4/08 for a duration of 110 minutes, with a total flared volume of 694 MSCF. On February 4th STV /IP 1802 was shut down due to a contaminated seal oil reservoir tank. Problems loading up the back up machine 1801 were encountered resulting in an extended flaring event. Maintenance made repairs to 1801 and it was brought on line and loaded up at 11:55 AM. This event began at 06:30 on 2/4/08 and ended at 11:55 for a duration of 325 minutes, with a total flared volume of 1,337 MSCF. The cooling was secured and flaring ended. The flaring event began at 0342 and ended at 0532 (110 minutes), the total volume flared was 727 MSCF. An additional flaring event is ongoing at FS3 and began on 6/11 on the DS6B /13C common line. A small pin hole leak to gas was discovered while doing inspection. A bolt on sleeve was put on the leak and other inspections are ongoing. Some production valves are leaking to the system so this common line is Tined up to flare until the scheduled turnaround at FS3 begins on 6/28. A final report with the flare volumes will be sent at that time. If you require additional information, please don't hesitate to call me. They have been trying to complete the welding on this line and have had difficulty getting the LEL (Lower Explosive Limit) down to an acceptable level for welding. The current plan is to shutdown DS6 tomorrow or Tuesday in order get the sleeve welded. Once welding has taken place they will move forward with purging the line and smart pigging. The flaring is due to leaking valves that will be replaced. The flaring volume for each 24 hour period from 7/24 until yesterday has been 103 MSCF. Since they have not been able to complete the welding I wanted to give you the volumes through July and we now have 2 days in August with the same volume each day (103 MSCF). July 24th to July 31st 103 MSCF each day and the total volume during this time was 824 MSCF. August 1st and August 2nd 103 MSCF each day and total volume of 206 MSCF to date. An extended flaring event occurred at FS3 on July 23 had to depressure commonline 6C/13B after attempting to warm up line for heat sink test prior to welding. The event began at 01:00 and ended at 04:00 (180 minutes), the total volume flared was 786 MSCF. If you require additional information, please don't hesitate to call me. The flaring began at 00:00 and ended at 24:00 (1440 minutes), total volume flared was 73 MSCF. This event began 8/10; total volume flared to date is 365 MSCF. Vessel work is ongoing. GC1 flare whilst depressurizing C slugcatcher, 8/16 An extended flaring event occurred at GC2 on 8/16 in preparation for a planned TAR. The C slugcatcher was used to de- pressure LDFs from E and G -pads; the gas remaining once the slugcatcher had been drawn down to the lowest pressure possible with the LP compressors was flared, between 01:04 and 02:39, a total volume of 660 MSCF. GC2 flare during TAPS pro- ration, 8/16 An extended flaring event occurred at GC2 on 8/16 during the TAPS pro- ration. In order to meet the 36% pro- ration, rate was cut, reducing the flow to the LP compressor to such a degree that it shut down. Wells were re- routed to bring more gas to GC2, and the compressors were successfully restarted. Flaring took place between 14:12 and 15:57, a total volume of 1094 MSCF. GC2 flare during slugcatcher PSV work, 8/16 An extended flaring event occurred at GC2 on 8/16 during work on the B slugcatcher PSVs. The slugcatcher was de- pressured, and flaring took place between 08:20 and 09:00, a total volume of 556 MSCF. The flaring ceased when the slugcatcher was depressured. This was as a result of a failure in a waste heat recovery unit pump. This required the 1803 / 1804 compressors to be unloaded to avoid overheating the heat transfer medium, until the gas production could be reduced. This was achieved by reducing production at drillsites 7 and 15. The problem has now been resolved, and production restarted. Please contact me if you have any questions. Perhaps a note was sent to Jim Regg, who would be your main point of contact, passing on this information, but I did not see any reports regarding this since that call. Is this flare event related to this incident on Thursday? Today you also sent out a flare event notice for CCP occuring on Tuesday and Wed (11/4 -5), also stated that the cause of this was the "CCP high -stage compressor 1812 being taken down for maintenance on the tube oil de- gassing system." The FS3 flaring noted below, states it is due to "tube oil problems with CCP compressor 1812 causing an increase in the gas transit pressure ". There appears to be a relationship between these 2 events. I left a message on the phone. If you could have the appropriate person contact me on Monday to help me understand these events, I would appreciate it.
