8/10/2012 4:38 8/10/2012 13:20 UNPLANNED 12,308 The Facility was being restarted following a major
maintenance shutdown. The High Pressure
Compressor Unit C-330012 was replaced with a
new compressor for all 3 stages and required
testing of critical safety flare system. The Low
Pressure Compressor Unit C-32012 additionally
received a new compressor bundle, requiring
testing of the critical safety controls, adding to the
total flare volume
Operations established sufficient flow through
the facility to minimize the flare gas volumes
and complete the necessary testing of the
critical safety controls. As soon as testing
was completed the compressors were loaded
to eliminate the flare emissions.
