On 1/6/13 Endicott shut in their TEG system for
repairs and subsequently lost their NGL system and
feed gas to the booster compressor. Excess gas
that the booster compressor would normally process
was diverted to the flare until the dehydration system
repairs were complete and brought back online on
1/8/13. The TEG system was shut down due to wet
gas. Endicott replaced the exchanger plates and
completed some piping modifications on the TEG
system to return the system to proper gas handling
within spec (aka no fluids).

BPXA is providing courtesy notification of an unplanned flaring event of greater than one hour, which occurred at the
Endicott Production Facility on May 4, 2013.
The event occurred at 0233 hours when the Endicott booster compressor shut down due to loss of feed gas caused by a
reduction in the production rate. Day operations was able to put the booster compressor back online with a successful
restart at 1500 hours.
Summary of event:
May 4, 2013 (747 min, 357 MSCF)
All attempts were made to identify problems, expedite maintenance, and keep flaring & assist gas to a minimum. Given
these circumstances, we believe that we took all necessary actions in accordance with good oil field engineering practices
and conservation purposes to minimize the volume of gas released, burned, or permitted to escape to the air. These
volumes will also be reported to you on the Facility Report of Produced Gas Disposition Form (Form 10-422).
Let us know if you have any questions or require additional information.
Thanks,
Trey Drake

To: Dave Roby, AOGCC

Jennifer Hunt, AOGCC
BPXA is providing courtesy notification of 2 unplanned flaring events of greater than one hour and one planned flaring
event of greater than on hour, which occurred at the Endicott Production Facility on May 5 and May 6, 2013.
The first unplanned event occurred from 5/5/2013 22:24 to 5/6/2013 00:00 when low production rates restricted gas
feed below the minimum required for booster compressor operation. As a result of the restricted gas feed, the booster
compressor shut down.
The planned flaring event occurred from 5/5/2013 16:04 to 5/5/2013 18:53 when following a turbine wash, copus was
used to spin dry the turbine. The gas provided for spinning the blades ran through copus and then out through the LP
flare.
The second unplanned flaring event occurred from 5/6/2013 00:00 to 5/6/2013 21:34 when low production rates
restricted gas feed below the minimum required for booster compressor operation. As a result of the restricted gas
feed, the booster compressor shut down. On May 6, because of very low production rates it was necessary to add more
assist gas for a longer duration to avoid an opacity exceedence. That is why the flare volume on May 6 was higher than
the flare volume on May 5.
Summary of unplanned flaring events:
May 5, 2013 (76 minutes, 52 MCF)
May 6, 2013 (1294 minutes, 543 MCF)
Summary of planned flaring event:
May 5, 2013 (169 minutes, 125 MCF)
All attempts were made to identify problems, expedite maintenance, and keep flaring & assist gas to a minimum. Given
these circumstances, we believe that we took all necessary actions in accordance with good oil field engineering practices
and conservation purposes to minimize the volume of gas released, burned, or permitted to escape to the air. These
volumes will also be reported to you on the Facility Report of Produced Gas Disposition Form (Form 10-422).

BPXA is providing courtesy notification of a single unplanned flaring event of greater than one hour which occurred at the
Endicott Production Facility on May 12, 2013.
The event occurred at 0640 hours, when the A -main gas compressor at Endicott shut down due to high inlet air filter DP.
The cause of the shutdown was due to ice formation on the inlet air filter pre -filters. Operations removed the ice from
the inlet air filter pre -filters and was able to restart the turbine on A main at 1123 hours.
Summary of unplanned flaring events:
May 12, 2013 (283 min, 167 MSCF)

BPXA is providing courtesy notification of a single planned flaring event of greater than one hour which occurred at the
Endicott Production Facility, beginning on June 8, 2013 and ending on June 9, 2013.
The planned flaring event occurred from 6/8/2013 14:22 to 6/9/2013 13:19
The planned flaring event was a result of the TAPS proration. Due to the proration, there was an overall reduction in
Endicott gas volumes. These reduced volumes resulted in an inadequate gas supply being sent to the booster
compressor. Therefore, assist gas was provided to the booster compressor.
Summary of planned flaring event:
June 8, 2013 (578 minutes, 87 MCF)
June 9, 2013 (799 minutes, 306 MCF)
Please note that the above summary is spilt between two days capturing the single event.
All attempts were made to keep flaring & assist gas to a minimum. Given these circumstances, we believe that we took
all necessary actions in accordance with good oil field engineering practices and conservation purposes to minimize the
volume of gas released, burned, or permitted to escape to the air. These volumes will also be reported to you on the
Facility Report of Produced Gas Disposition Form (Form 10-422).

BPXA is providing courtesy notification of 2 unplanned flaring events of greater than one hour which occurred at the

BPXA is providing courtesy notification of planned flaring events of greater than one hour which occurred intermittently at
the Endicott Production Facility from August 11 through 12, 2013.
The flaring event began at 06:07 hours on August 11 with the last event occurring at 15:54 hours on August 12. A total of
766 MCF of gas was flared during these events.
The intermittent flaring events that occurred during August 11-12 were a result of the TAPS proration. As production rates
slowed the HP and LP compressors came off-line as wells were shut in and it was necessary to flare. BP also conducted
preventative maintenance on the compressors while they were shut down for the TAPS proration.
All attempts were made with the intent to unload the well to allow natural flow. Flaring for this purpose was kept to a
minimum necessary to reduce well tubing pressure. Given these circumstances, we believe that we took ail necessary
actions in accordance with good oil field engineering practices and conservation purposes to minimize the volume of gas
released, burned, or permitted to escape to the air. These volumes will also be reported to you on the Facility Report of
Produced Gas Disposition Form (Form 10422).
Please let us know if you have any questions or require additional information.

BPXA is providing courtesy notification of a single unplanned flaring event of greater than one hour which occurred at the
Endicott Production Facility. The Main gas compressor shut down yesterday evening due to a faulty switch. This in turn
caused the gas booster compressor to shut down. With both the Main gas compressor and the booster compressor
down, assist gas was added to the system and flaring was necessary.
Summary of unplanned flaring event:
November 25, 2013 from 19:30 to 21:28 (118 minutes, 116 MSCF)
All attempts were made to identify problems, expedite maintenance, and keep flaring & assist gas to a minimum. Given
these circumstances, we believe that we took all necessary actions in accordance with good oil field engineering practices
and conservation purposes to minimize the volume of gas released, burned, or permitted to escape to the air. These
volumes will also be reported to you on the Facility Report of Produced Gas Disposition Form (Form 10-422).
Thank you,
Trey Drake

Please note that a mistake was made in the original email. I had reported that the flaring event lasted for 286 minutes at
204 MSCF. In drafting the email, the two numbers were transposed.
The correct duration of the flaring event is 204 minutes.
The correct volume is 286 MSCF.
My apologies for the confusion.
Thanks,
Trey Drake
