Subject: RE: Anna Platform/Granite Pt 10-422 April -May/14
Hi Victoria
Here's what happened on the Anna: The'planned flaring' is the procedure used to relieve the excess gas from building up
pressure in the gas pipeline to GPTF. The excess gas was a result of the unscheduled SO of the Anna turbine generator
who's unneeded fuel gas volumes then becomes the extra gas in this line. These two events should have been classified
as unplanned as they resulted from an unscheduledequipment SD. The reference to 'gas eman eing broughtac
up, is when the Anna generator is restarted, the fuel nee a ort the generator becomes the increased gas demand
needed to stop the flaring.
As for the GPP pilot/purge volume changes, new metering is the reason. For a long time the field guys were using a
ca ccuTatecTguessima e o the ow pressure, low rate pilot/purge gas rate. In late March, they installed a new ultrasonic
meter to this 1" supply line and found the actual rate of pilot/purge to be higher than believed. Previously, the rate was
entered in the mid -single digit mcfd range and now it's in the mid -teen mcfd range for pilot/purge which is around a —10
mcf a day increase, hence the —300 mcf increase per month. This is a more accurate measure of the true pilot/purge
volume than was previously understood on the GPP. ~
Since most of the flare/vent info for the 10-422 passes through our air/emissions people, I've included Wally with this e-
mail. He's the 'keeper' of the flare type info for Cook Inlet and would be a great contact for any future gas disposition type
questions. Wally will be preparing the revised May 'Excess Flare Log' for the Anna platform to better explain those two
flare events and will be sending it to you when it's ready.
Hope this e-mail fully explains both of the issues you were interested in understanding.

Subject: RE: Anna Platform/Granite Pt 10-422 April -May/14
Larry,
Anna Platform: In the May, 2014 10-422 submission both flaring incidents are described as " planned flaring of excess
sales gas that could not be handled at GPTF" with no mention of an unscheduled shutdown of the turbine. The action
taken to minimize volume was "Excess flaring necessary until excess gas was flared and gas demand could be brought
back up." Could you please route this to the person who submits the 10-422 and have them correct the May,
2014 forms to indicate what happened(unscheduled SD of turbine) if that's what occurred?
Granite Point Platform: On the second question, this pertains to Granite Pt Platform: Why is the pilot/purge up to over
400 mcf from a trend of <100 mcf in April/14?
Thanx for addressing these questions.

Subject: RE: Anna Platform/Granite Pt 10-422 April -May/14
Hi Victoria,
For the first question, on those dates, the AC 2 turbine on the ANNA had unscheduled shutdowns causing the line
pressure going to the GPTF to temporarily reach-190psi which exceeded their set limit of-180psi and the excess gas
was flared to reduce the line pressure. When the turbine was brought back online the flaring ceased. It is true that when
there is only a small amount of excess gas available for sales, it cannot be sold. As this is low pressure gas and there
isn't a compressor small enough at GPTF to boost this pressure up to sales pressure, we end up not being able to sell
these small volumes. Usually Bruce is able to consume the small amounts of excess gas that Anna produces, but when
an Anna turbine goes down (like on those dates), the gas line pressure climbs to where some gas ends up going to flare.
On the second question, I'm a little confused. I show Anna pilot and purge volumes of 1085 in Jan/14, 928 in Feb/14, 976
in Mar/14, 872 in Apr/14 & 1051 in May/14. I don't see the numbers you wrote below.
Let me know if I misread your questions, but this is what I've come up with so far

Larry,
A couple of questions:
1. Please explain event on 5/17/14 and 5/20/14 where excess flaring occurred because of excess sales gas. Is sales
gas being flared because it can't be sold?
2. Why is the pilot/purge up to over 400 mcf from a trend of <100 mcf in April/14?
Thanx,
Victoria
