Re: Beaver Creek Waukesha Controls Upgrade Overview
Dear Ms. Mahan:

P.O. Box 1949
Kenai, AK 99611-1949
Telephone (907) 283-1305
Fax (907)283-6175
This is the information on the Controls Upgrade to our Waukesha Gas Compressor that you
requested.
Upgraded the compressor's ignition system.
Upgraded the Vibration shutdown capabilities.
Installed electronic pressure and temperature transmitters on engine and compressor.
Installed actuators on louvers for engine and compressor.
Installed low/hi oil level shutdowns on engine and compressor.
Installed engine vacuum transmitters.
Installed exhaust temperature transmitters.
Installed temperature control loop for engine and compressor
Installed pre/post lubrication pumps and piping.
Installed new power service.
Installed new instrument air compressor.
Installed panel mate control module.
Installed new state-of-the-art fire & gas detection system and fire eyes with shutdowns and alarms.
Installed a communication link to Beaver Creek office and Kenai Gas Field office.
Upgraded dump valves to central manifold, with new piping.
Installed cooling level monitors.
Installed threadolet in forth stage suction scrubber for new liquid level controller.
During the shutdown, all piping was inspected, we found damage to third stage suction piping, first
stage discharge piping, and forth stage discharge piping, all of these pipes were replaced, which
was in excess of the original scope of work and extended the original estimate of down time.
These upgrades have reduced the vibration of the machine, given enhanced shut down capabilities,
provided more constant temperature control and provided greater safety in operations. The new
communication link provides the ability to "see" the compressor from the Beaver Creek Office orthe
Kenai Gas Field Office.
Yours truly,
Don Erwin
