James Regg wrote: I spoke with Ben Schoffmann (Marathon) today about gas venting at GO pad wells (Ninilchik Unit) and asked about plans to install compressor on pad or velocity strings in the wells. Venting has been necessary to unload the wells - we have been classifying the venting as "conservation "; we put Marathon on notice in July 2005 that we are interested in what they are doing to minimize /eliminate the venting. I requested a written update with next month's gas disposition reports. Mr. Schoffmann will make sure we get the update and provided a quick summary - - Marathon attempted to add perfs in GO #2; almost killed well; still must periodically unload the wells - plan is to install compressor in 2006 on GO pad; this should eliminate need for unloading well (similar to Falls Ck pad installation in 2005) - Paxton pad compressor in 2007? - Susan Dionne pad wells have not required venting to unload well thus far. Falls Creek Pad Compression was put into service on 11/15/05 to essentially eliminate gas venting to maintain production at this pad. Grassim Oskolkoff (GO) Pad As Ken advised previously, our intent had been to add compression at the GO Pad in late 2006. However, a couple of changes in well performance have reduced venting dramatically and delayed the need for compression until 2007. in May, perforations were added in GO 41 and increased the well's rate and eliminate the need to vent to unload the well. The GO it2 well is no longer producing. Marathon is evaluating the options to shut off the water and re- establish production. Paxton Pad water loading issues began 10/05 requiring periodic venting to unload water. Future plans are to install a velocity string on Paxton #1 in 2007. Prolonged deliveries of required equipment prevent work completion this year. Should you have any questions or comments, please advise.
