The venting is a result of testing the compressor that is currently being installed at the production facilities a hundred feet from the No. 3 well. The pipeline that ties the Nicolai Creek field to CIGGS is not complete at this time. In order to test the compressor at pressure, a stack with a throttling line will be utilized. The compressor is equipped with a recycle line that will assist to keep venting of gas to a minimum. Aurora Gas anticipates venting of no more than 2-3 million per day, and testing of the compressor (resulting in venting of gas) should last no more than 3 days. If all goes as planned, testing of the compressor should be complete in one day. Venting will occur in one hour intervals, approximately 3-4 times a day.
