Initial flaring due to -apid ambient temperaturQ rise. Began cutting weNs immediately. As the
cuts began to take effect, wind swung around from the south, significantly warming the
turbine inlets and necessitating another round of cuts.
• Lost the SNs at 1745 hrs due to high scrubber levels caused by #lare header pressure.
Scn,~bber dumps to CHD which rides on flare header pressure.
• CGF wens dawn at 1815, necessitating afield-wide shutdown of NGLlEOF;IMI_
• twat BTVs up far a short time, then trl~ped again on high scrubber level due to CMD pressure.
~ By the #ime the STVs were up the second time, the tempQrature had stabilized and the cuts
had al[ arrived. Atlhet time we were stiq flaring 4MMSCFD anti reat~zeCt that ii was from an
int8mal plant problem. Began a plant wide cheClc of potential sources. Due to ongoing
tspset/shutdown cond'~ions with the STVs and NGI. plant. only one operator available to
search for source of the flaring most of the time.
!Witte! search did not discover the source. A second. sean;h was initiated with additional
personnel. Near the end of the second search, one 2"d stage case drain on "C" Gi_C was
disCpVered to bs fully open. Nobody opened the drain. How an8 when it carne to be open is
unkr-bwn.
