CHECK ONE: FLARE/RELIEF VALVE: X RUPTURE DISK:_ CONTROLLED BLOWDOWN:_ OTHER:
First Determination of Cause:
1. LPS compressor K-7001 was shut down due to a problem associated with high delta pressure across their hydraulic oil
filters.
2. While bringing production rates up following K7001 LPS compressor filter change out, LPS compressors exceeded
maximum gas capacity and discharged to flare.
3.
4.
5.
Action Taken to Stop Flaring:
1. BP started reducing LPS rates at 0825 hours, in order to shut down K7001 (to change out the filters) and close the flare
valves.
2. No response taken as this was deemed to be of short duration.
