First Determination of Cause:
1. High LPS gas rate when a well unloaded after well work. 29 minutes of flaring over period. (After well
unloaded, LPS compressor would periodically become ov~rloaded and pop to flare.)
2. High transit pressure with line packed. _
3. High gas transit line pressure caused by the CGF boosters slowing down when an additional 15mmscf gas was
routed back to transit while work was being done on EWE W40i gas injection well.
4. High gas transit line pressure caused by the ambient temperature causing CGF boosters to bog down due to
anti-ice system
Action Taken to Stop Flaring:
1. Cut LPS gas rate by shutting in 15 mm gas rate and switching wells temporarily to Annex until compressor
stablized.
2. Waiting for the higher GOR wells that Arco s/i BP s/i lower GOR wells to stop flaring. Will bring wells back
on after pressure drops.
3. WOA shutin approximately 55mmscf to reduce flaring and requested ARCO to reduce their higher GOR wells
in order to reduce transit line pressure.
4. BP cut approximately 80mm gas rate to stop flaring. Arco also shut-in high GOR wells to lower transit line
pressure.

CHECK ONE: FLARE/RELIEF VALVE: X RUPTURE DISK: CONTROLLED BLOWDOWN: OTHER:
First Determination of Cause:
Rapid increase in gas transit line pressure when FS1 brought on a 70 mmscf well without coordinating with
ARCO EOC. The additional gas resulted in additional backpressure to the gas transit line which backed up the
interstage pressures to the compressors at CCP.
Action Taken to Stop Flaring:
ARCO initially reduced higher GaR wells to compensate for the additional gas rate which was produced to the gas
transit line. Both ARCO and BPX then took additional gas cuts to relieve the backpressure on the gas transit line
so that the CCP compressors could be of additional help in drawing down the transit line pressure.

2. Flared off HP sep. at GHX 1 due to mechanical problèl'!1-with back pressure valve PV 9980.
3. Gas transit line pressure was already increasing due to the rapid increase in ambient temperature (10
